more on rattles in rear door area

FWIW, on my 2021 Refreshed S (Long range), I had a similar rattle but it turned out to come from two places. The loudest rattle came from the carpeted panel on the hatch itself, located below the hatch center speaker grill. It had come loose and rattled. Seems it has metal clips and if they...

Full set of wheels and tires, excellent shape. Front tires have about 5,000 miles on them (as new with lots of thread depth left), rear has about 12,000 miles on them (3/4 worn so maybe 5,000 miles left on them). Some general pictures of the set installed on my previous Model S 75D below. Will...

Plaid Owners PSA: Ifhate the Yoke/Turn Signals/Horn, please complain to the NHTSA

Please take responsibility for you own actions. You made the conscious decision to buy the car KNOWING it came with the setup you are complaining about. Obviously you regret the choice, but it was YOUR choice. Make the best of it. Or sell it. Or wait for an aftermarket steering wheel to come out...

Anyone else find it ironic that software updates....

According to my service center, software updates are received by the service centers first, they put it on "their" vehicles first for verification, before being pushed to the general users, and the order of deployment is by VIN number then. I assume some "beta test" vehicles are not following...

P85 19" wheel width and max tire width?

Here is a good calculator to let you see acceptable tire sizes versus rim size: Wheel/Rim Size Calculator - Shows acceptable rim width range for the tyre size Here is the list: Tire Width for a Wheel/Rim Size Chart

P85 19" wheel width and max tire width?

If your stock rims are 8" wide, the tire widths you're listing are way too wide. The rim-to-tire width ratio is way off. Even a standard 245 width tire on a stock 19", 8" wide rim is about as wide you should go from a handling/cornering perspective. Ideally you would need wider rims if you...

    19 vs 21" Wheel performance on P100D

A few things affect the range: 1 - the 19s are lighter by several pounds per wheel compared to the 21s 2 - the 19s are all-season tires (less sticky, less friction), whereas the 21s are summer/higher performance tires (stickier compound) 3 - 19" rims are 8" wide, 21" rims are 8.5"...

    Intermittent Front Parking Sensor Failure

2017 Model S 75D (2.0 HW), have same issue with front sensors. Been happening for the past 3 software updates, front edge sensors continue to work, but the fronts fail to sense objects. Only happens after driving in rain/misty conditions for some reason. Currently on 2017.50.3 f3425a1.

Do Your Brakes Emit a Cheap Sounding Squeak?

Better engineering? A better thought out system? I think they really took the time to design it to be an easy transition from an ICE car. With the accelerator pedal you can modulate the regen/deceleration very precisely just like you can manage the deceleration on a stick shift ICE car at...

Do Your Brakes Emit a Cheap Sounding Squeak?

The two systems are independent and separate from each other. The regen kicks in immediately once you let go of the accelerator pedal. The brake pedal actuates the hydraulic brakes, just like a "normal" car.

Verified Uncorked 75D (with delivery date please)

Call the Tesla Service Center near you, and make an appointment, tell them you want to have the performance upgrade done. Be prepared to give them your VIN. That's it. My SC in Jacksonville was on the ball, looked up my VIN, said "yup, you're eligible, bring it in". Look at your VIN sticker...

Not seeing the road, cars and speed on the driver's screen

Same thing happened to my car after the last update. Called Tesla and they see one left camera (side repeater location) reporting a fault, which causes a cascading effect on the lane detection, headlights, car detection etc. Waiting for an appointment to get it fixed.

Easy entry - effect on battery life?

It most likely uses the 12V lead acid battery. But if I understand the system correctly, the 12V battery is replenished during the charging cycle/and lithium battery when needed.. However there is a lithium replacement : BattMobile Batteries, Custom Lithium Batteries I wouldn't be too worried...

    Radar detectors

I have a 2017 Model S 75D (May delivery), and it has the reddish tint in the windshield. According to Valentine 1's website, those "solar films" will block most of the radar signal. I tend to ask the service center next week when I go to get mine uncorked, but I suspect the best option would be...
