    Refreshed Model X

My guess is there will be a Plaid+ model X later. That will be what I am awaiting

Leaving car plugged in overnight at supercharger?

I would never do that and have been in that situation many times. I partially charge while checking into hotel and unpacking. Then unplug and move car, then charge up to near 100% while having breakfast in morning. NEVER leave plugged in overnight at Supercharger!

Any hack to remove the autopilot nag?

The problem is the tension on steering wheel does not prevent going to sleep at the wheel. I know of a Tesla driver on Autopilot without any nag defeat measures fell asleep at the wheel and drove 20 minutes maintaining tension while asleep. He only woke when navigate on autopilot started turning...

I’m starting to drive like *sugar* without Autopilot

If I have to drive vehicle without Autopilot any distance I now do not enjoy. I really feel rather insecure, with a slight look away meaning drifting out of lane and no ‘guardian angel’ keeping a look all around for other vehicles.

    Two little stories

I frequently gets kids excited when I drive past in my model X. When I have been sitting in car waiting for the wife, I have even had kids come up pleading with me to open the FWD’s for them to see.

Long Road trip with Y or ICE????

I would have to be really desperate to use anything other than a Tesla on a long roadtrip - so much better!
  8. Jonathantuba

Is it me, or is the Model Y really ugly?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - and does change over time. I think the S is the best looking Tesla, the model 3 looks sporty, the X impressive (particularly with FWD open) and the Y functional. But most people buy cars for function, so the Y will sell best - at least until the Cybertruck...

Impressive of Autopilot! So pleased you were kept safe in such a dangerous situation

    Model X on Salvation

I just watched this on Netflix and completely agree. Tanz must be based on Musk and why do they keep opening the falcon wing doors for no reason. They could have had Tanz put his brief case on the rear seat for a reason. I am enjoying the series all the same!

    Model X Perf or....

Why don’t you get the model X long range - that would save on purchase cost and insurance? The long range will be quite fast enough on the public roads in the UK. I would only get a Performance if money is no object, which does not sound the case if you are worrying about insurance costs.

I miss driving my Model 3

My office is a couple of miles from my home, so I do get an opportunity to drive every day, but often take a long way around to get there just because I love driving my Tesla. But I can’t wait to do another road trip!

Model X 90D for Sale in Chicago

I have a 2016 model X 90D With 7-seats for sale in Chicago. The car is in good condition and everything working well. Had new tires fitted in December. The car has premium package including cooling, as well as heated seats. Fitted with AP1 Autopilot which works amazingly well. Car is white with...

When I drive in Chicago, 20MPH over the limit is normal!

I’ll get roasted but here goes anyway

I just leave my key ring in the car during the day concealed in the center console and can move about with just my phone on my person
  26. Jonathantuba

I’ll get roasted but here goes anyway

The model 3 opening with the iPhone I see as one advantage it has over the S and X. When I use the wife’s model 3, I enjoy not having to have a key fob in my pocket, like I do driving my X. But whatever works for you.
  27. Jonathantuba

    The argument *against* a 2nd gen Model S & X

My guess is that Tesla will continue as they are, bit by bit enhancing the S and X without any major redesigns - until they eventually replace with completely new models, maybe seeing the largely good reception of the Cybertruck, more based on that design. Obviously the S and X have mainly...

AP 1 what am I missing

I have an 2016 AP1 X and an 2018 AP2.5 model X. The AP1 car is missing; 1) Navigate on Autopilot 2) All around cameras, so will not abort lane change if car is speeding up behind (which has given me the occasional scary moment) 3) Does not detect crossing traffic (I have had to take over to...

Is the Model Y the perfect EV.....

You could be right, although I wonder how many will hold on for the Cybertruck
  30. Jonathantuba

    Is this really true ?!

I don’t think there would be 800k orders if the first image had been the real Cybertruck - nothing exceptional

STATS app - is it safe to use

No worry using the Stats app. The developer and software does not hold your password. It is a great app which I would not like to be without.
  32. Jonathantuba

The biggest surprise I have after two weeks of Model 3

Autopilot makes driving so much more relaxing and I also no longer worry about delays and stop and go traffic
  33. Jonathantuba

EU - Autopilot, summon, everything gets choked.

That is what I was thinking - the nerfing happened since 2019.16 - the latest update 2019.40 is a slight improvement
  34. Jonathantuba

Road tripping and charging to 100%

I don’t think charging to 100% causes any problems if you leave soon after. I have done 45k miles and often charge to 100% on frequent roadtrips. I have only lost 5 miles range so far which is quite normal and to be expected
  35. Jonathantuba

What aftermarket accessories do you want for your Cybertruck?

A trailer with its own power pack linked to the Cybertruck, so still have the full range towing
  36. Jonathantuba

Another rear end accident on AP

Stop detection does work. I was in Germany going down autobahn at 150kmh (the maximum on Autopilot) when I came around corner to find stationary traffic only 200 yards ahead. Autopilot slammed on breaks before I could respond and I am sure saved me from accident

Who is getting a Tesla Cybertruck

I have ordered a tri-motor Cybertruck to replace my X90D. Will be much better for me carrying around exhibit stock with more space and 500 mile range. Will keep my X100D in the UK. The Cybertruck would be far too large on the small roads (and even smaller parking places) this side of the pond.
  38. Jonathantuba

What Kind of Car Did The Model 3 Replace?

My model 3 is Long range Duel motor - it replaces a Mercedes E320CDi
  39. Jonathantuba

    [Poll]- Is Cybertruck beautiful?

I imagine people that don’t like the style, want greater style and luxury, or want anything so large. I am considering getting one to replace my 2016 X in the USA, but would not consider for the UK - it would be difficult to park anywhere - far too big!
  40. Jonathantuba

This truck design had better be a joke....

That was exactly my thought. Something really radical like the iPhone was at the time. Traditionalists will not like, but I think it will prove to be a new icon and immensely popular, particularly with the younger buyers. I am even considering buying myself, and I would never get a traditional...

What's your top feature request that could be accomplished via software update?

Enabling small rear camera on screen over navigation, rather like floating video window on iPad, so I can see camera and navigation at same time on screen.
  42. Jonathantuba

What would make you buy a non Tesla electric vehicle?

Would have to have equal technology and better charging network
  43. Jonathantuba

Autosteer on motorway = great. Autosteer on A road = dangerous?

I have probably 40k miles experience driving on Autopilot (in multiple different Tesla’s) and my experience is a lot better than some here. You get to know it strengths and weaknesses and realise that it does learn. There are roads it tried to drive me off the road initially, usually at turnings...
  44. Jonathantuba

Rear ended another vehicle, not blaming Tesla but wondering why AEB did not activate?

Sorry to hear of this incident, and pleased no-one was hurt. A couple of things, When ever possible turn on Autopilot as you go down ramp onto freeway. You will be safer in Autopilot as it can look all around and with you overseeing too will be safer than driving on a busy road with vehicles...

New breed of Model 3 drivers out there.

I wave when I am on my own, but not when my wife accompanies me, as she thinks its stupid
  46. Jonathantuba

    Auto Pilot Is Dangerous

In over 40k miles driving using Autopilot I have never seen behaviour as shown in the videos. I think the conclusion is there must be major fault with the sensors, or bug with computer in car. So the obvious thing to do is get to service center to check out with at much data as possible - and...

    Why make a deposit now?

I am considering replacing my 2016 model X90D with a model Y when out to get the latest technology and more range - but am unsure if will be big enough after the X. So am waiting until I can get into a Y first. May go for a new X instead, but difficult to justify the extra cost if the Y will do...
