@BruceR61 @Cici&Mimi @4SUPER9 The designation of the site isn’t Thousand Oaks East. It’s just Thousand Oaks — the the section of Thousand Oaks Blvd. east of Moorpark Rd. is E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. West of that (and entering the Oaks Mall), it’s W. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

@MonkeyTOGA This site reminds me of the conditions we saw in Westlake several weeks ago. The work by the contractor seems mostly complete, but SCE has not installed their equipment.

I think it’s time for someone to flip the switch. Since this morning, they’ve removed the construction fencing, planted the last of the shrubs, spread mulch that was in one of the parking spaces over much of the new drip line, and cleaned up. You can now see the SCs from Westlake Blvd.

I forgot to mention that I spoke with someone at Caruso’s Calabasas office last Friday, before leaving town for a few days. She wasn’t absolutely certain, but thought the opening date had been scheduled for Monday 3/19. That would comport with SCE’s due date of 3/18. We’ll see. Meanwhile...

It’s definitely a case of “hurry up, and wait.” SCE worked on both Sat and Sun, only to have everything grind to a halt the past two days. Presumably they need final inspection before they go live.

The project seems stalled again. Someone exposed most of the sidewalk that’s in need to repair. Otherwise, nothing is happening here today.

@RodNim I’m not convinced the SCs will be installed the back, where the equipment is currently being stored. I walked the entire parking lot in front, looking for evidence of future construction. There is a lot of construction activity, but it’s all related to reworking curbs. However...

Finally !!! Someone from Tesla confirmed our expectations— “the SCs will be turned on before the end of this month.” BrightView is on site today, working on the irrigation. Assuming the completion of their work is the only remaining task, we may indeed have an operational SC early next week.

SCE still hasn’t begun their work. But the site looks well prepped for the connection.

That’s what I heard as well. But as of yesterday afternoon, the Westlake (TO) crew apparently hasn’t shown up in Calabasas.

The majority of the construction crew has begun working on their next assignment—reportedly the Calabasas Commons. Apparently, SCE will begin connecting the equipment to their grid next week.

The trenching has finally reached Westlake Blvd. Let’s hope the end is near.

I’ve been out of town for more than weeks. Even with holiday interruptions, I thought I’d see more progress. Today, they are pulling wires to each SC but, as you can see, there is much left to accomplish.

Finally some progress on the transformer portion of the job. Apparently, much of the trenching has to be done by hand, to avoid disturbing the roots of Sycamore trees. Today, they installed three underground vaults, so the pace may be picking up.
