My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

These are probably the best daylight photos I have with the wheels on. Edit: Can't get the pics to upload properly, sorry if it's being funky when loading.

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

Wheel energy consumption numbers, finally! Sorry for the delay, I know several asked for these numbers but I wanted to make sure they were representative. I did my daily commute for a week with the stock 18" wheels with aero covers, then for a week with my 20x9" aftermarket wheels. The...

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

That's much higher than expected. I was road-tripping for holidays, a work trip, then a vacation at the end of January. Normal mileage accumulation would be about 50mi per day plus weekends. So maybe 1200-1500/mo.

MASTER THREAD: Jack Points — location, use, damage, pads, etc.

No adapter required. Just use a hydraulic jack with a rubber pad. My costco aluminum floor jack works perfectly for swapping one wheel at a time.

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

Here's mine. Yours does have a bigger loop.

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

7,708 miles on mine since taking delivery October 16th (about 3.5 months as of this writing). I've taken it on several decent road trips. It's been up to Packwood, WA, down to the Grand Canyon (by way of Phoenix), and I've done the San Jose <-> Los Angeles trip twice now. Reno and Sacramento a...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

I took it off for the VMR photoshoot because it was peeling in places. I'm still learning how to apply vinyl properly in a way that won't come up around the edges after a few weeks. I plan to put it back soon, since I really liked it. Also, for those interested, I'm at over 7,700 miles on this...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

FYI, just finished a bunch of road-tripping on my stock 18" wheels with the aero covers. 2500 miles, including a lot of freeway, but also a lot of mixed driving. Consumption was 266 Wh/mi overall. I'll leave the 18's on for a week of commuting to get some apples to apples consumption numbers...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

245 is actually a little bit stretched on the 9" wide rims. 255 would probably be more appropriate for that width, but I really like the look of these. No rubbing at all. Not even close. Will see how it is with coilovers though.

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

I bought direct from VMR. I took a bunch of measurements and they made the wheels custom for me (they make all their wheels custom, so it didn't cost extra). V710 If you buy from them, they can use my measurements for you. They arranged the tires and TPMS sensors too. They were mounted and...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

Hey everyone, just posting some more photos for your enjoyment. First, a batch of photos from a recent trip I took up in to Washington state. Next, VMR arranged a photoshoot of my car since I got my wheels from them. Enjoy the eye candy! More on their Flickr here: V710 Matte Black 20" |...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

They machined the wheels to match the measurements I gave them. I'm not sure how they handle the offset, but they didn't have any objections when I gave them the offset number I did. Yes, they're matte black.

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

Haha, don't get excited. I'm letting them handle a ding I put in the car by accident since I don't have the time to arrange it myself.

What portion of your M3 will you clear-bra or wrap for paint protection?

The quotes I got for paint protection were on par with the cost to respray a panel. It's very expensive insurance that I have not opted for.

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

I've spent a fair amount of time in pretty much every variant of Model S and X. I've got a base model S right now as a service loaner and the seats on that are less comfortable than my 3. The Model 3 seats were good for me on my trip to LA. I'd like it if the front of the cushion would adjust a...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

I converted a 2001 BMW 330ci to electric using recycled parts from various EVs and hybrids. It's a blast to drive, feels quicker off the line than the Model 3, and is for sale ;-) Here's a link to the build log: DIY Electric Vehicle from Recycled Parts I was honestly not sure I'd buy the...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

I wrapped partway around the handles. When the handles are pivoted out, the chrome shows. It did form nicely around the curves though, so it's not likely to peel off on its own any time soon. If it does, those were actually the easiest part of the whole car to wrap and I can redo them. Haha, I...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

As a customer, there's no reason I can't give honest observations. It's not like I got a discount or anything ;-) My main issues and complaints are related to fit, but service had been amazing and very responsive to my notes (even for little things). The accelerator pedal ramp rate could be a...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

I expect it will be possible once the aftermarket gets their hands on them. I'm not sure if I will or not yet. Reducing the gap would certianly look great, but I don't want to spoil the ride. It's also nice not scraping driveways or speed bumps. Those numbers are somewhat combined. I'm...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

I used wrap on all the chrome and the shadow. It's 3M 1080 Matte Deep Black from here. Thanks! Copy away :-) Employee

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

I'm getting about 240-280Wh/mi. I'm confident it would go the full 310 miles if I weren't driving it 80mph on the freeway. I was very impressed with the range on my LA trip. I'll have an even better idea of its actual capability when I take it up to WA state later this month. Tint was for...

My Pearl White Model 3 with some early mods

Hi All! First post on this forum. Took delivery of my Model 3 (long range, premium upgrades, pearl white) back in October and I've been loving it. This is my first brand new car and also the first that I can't really do crazy mods to (I'm used to engine swaps, EV conversions, etc). This is the...
