Possible to leave lights on while exiting car for short time?

That function leaves the lights on for one minute. I am hoping that there will be a way to turn the lights on by the phone app and leave them on for a specified period of time (up to some maximum sensible time). This is just an idea that would help me. Others may feel this function to be...

Possible to leave lights on while exiting car for short time?

Let's say I stop the car at night and exit the car to get the mail or clear a tree branch from the road. I want the lights to remain on while I do this because a completely dark vehicle with no parking lights or hazard lights is very difficult for other drivers to see. I would be happy if just...

Wow, we need to find another way to heat EVs

I think the climate in the northeastern US is under represented in the EPA range estimates for electric vehicles. I would welcome a figure that stated something like "highway range" at say 75 mph. The "cold" weather is very often well below 0 C and combined with slush, ice, snow on both the...

Phone always connects to car and starts playing music/podcast automatically

I too find this a distraction from what is really important (driving). I have not found a way to prevent this. It seems that changing the default to "bluetooth auto-play off" or "music auto-play on connect = off" would be a possibility. This app is open and connected (and sometimes playing)...

Don't want heater on, want vent

Defrost: Clearing the windows is often the biggest problem (and was true with our Nissan Leaf too). Also cold feet are a problem. Heat pump: I agree the heat pump idea seems like another important change to the HVAC system. For now, when I need to clear the windows, I run the heat...

Should EVs Make Artificial Sounds at Low Speeds?

Please don't misunderstand me. I would prefer no noise at all. Our world is full of extraneous and even damaging noise. This is just one more reason for electric vehicles. Imagine a busy intersection without roaring engines -- our world would be significantly nicer to live in. I think any...

Should EVs Make Artificial Sounds at Low Speeds?

I think voluntary sound the driver could use would be appropriate. The horn is often too alarming for the circumstances. The loud horn scares people and can be misunderstood. I suggest a way to make a voluntary "polite" noise (a bicycle bell type of sound).
