Free app for viewing TeslaCam and Sentry videos on your Android device

Thanks for creating this very useful app! Works great with a Belkin adapter and OnePlus 3 (you have to enable USB storage devices in the settings). I'll be trying it on my wife's Pixel 2 next.

    Texas Hold Up!

The front roof panel is tinted as is the front half or so of the rear window. Because tint regulations vary state-to-state, the side windows and bottom of rear window are untinted (Telsa transitions the roof tint to no tint mid-glass on the back panel). Definitely need side/rear tint in Texas...

    Texas Hold Up!

After searching online for people tinting only the back half of the rear glass, I didn't see anything that didn't end up with a big tint differential, even if they could hide the actual line on a defroster line. I tinted the entire rear with 30% and it looks great and didn't look too much...

Hand wash at home -- is there any other way ;) Decided to wash off the bug splatters from a ~200 mile trip yesterday in the 3. Washing the front of the Model 3 is a breeze compared to the Model S (with nosecone) since it has really clean lines and relatively few nooks and crannies.

    Texas Hold Up!

Good question: It goes on the entire painted/chrome surfaces and he applied it to the Aeros as well. It may also go on plastic parts like headlights/taillights as well (I meant to ask). Brian was working on our red 3 and a blue 3 at the same time. They videoed the application on one or...

    Texas Hold Up!

Got our red Model 3 back from Austin Detailing this morning and it looks fabulous! We decided to go with the higher-end Feynlab Self Heal Lite, which should be more resilient than the Opticoat on my S and also has the ability to "heal" minor scratches when exposed to heat (either ambient or a...

I am so sorry to hear that! Probably someone too busy gawking at the pretty car in front of them to pay attention to driving.

We took delivery yesterday as well (in Austin). Temporary permit was taped to the back window and there was a second copy in the glovebox. It should be present at delivery, so for anyone picking one up, make sure you find it or ask for it.

I'll post details and pictures when I get our Model 3 back. I mainly don't want to post inaccurate information.

    Texas Hold Up!

I used Brian at Austin Detailing (at Burnet/183) for the coating, and they arranged tinting as well at Sunbusters (at 183 & Duval) for the Model 3. My Model S was originally a loaner in Denver for the first three months of it's life (over winter at that), so Brian gave it a lot of TLC to...

We picked up ours today as well. It looks great and we had fun driving it for ~45 minutes before dropping it off for tint/OptiCoat. Definitely drives like a lighter car than the Model S and a slightly different acceleration curve than my S85 (unfortunately, I haven't found myself at the front...

Sorry Gecko... It looks like cars delivered in Austin are coming in on I-10 based on a couple of conversations I've had. That also explains the truck of Model 3's spotted in San Antonio last seek that ended up in Austin. If you have a delivery next week, I would expect a truck to show up in...

I think the red one with Aeros in the back should be ours :D. We stopped by this afternoon, however, and didn't find one with the right VIN, so I'm hoping they were getting it cleaned up.

Who else in Austin has an upcoming delivery date scheduled? We have one for March 13th (3 weeks after we completed payment/paperwork). I'm starting to wonder if we just missed making the first truck and are having to wait for a second truck to be filled. Eric

We were just assigned a delivery date of the 13th as well -- Seems like a pretty long delay given that our paperwork/payments completed last Wednesday. I'm hoping they can pull this in as well.

Look what someone just posted to the Austin/San Antonio Tesla group -- it looks like the first truck of Model 3's has arrived in Austin. I see some blue ones on there (I'm looking at you Spudnik ;-)

    Texas Hold Up!

I'm glad to hear they are now assigning the San Antonio VINs! I have to say that my OCD (obsessive clicking disorder) has been cured after receiving a VIN -- something comforting knowing there is a car out there with our name on it. We completed paperwork/payment on Wednesday, but are still...

We're keeping our Model S as well (it's my daily driver). The Model 3 will be my wife's care and will displace one of our two Volts, which will be handed down to our son in college (displacing his ICE car ;-) We've been almost zero gas for the past 3 years and it's been great. My now 17...

Ditto. If I remember correctly we were #13 in line in Austin on Mar31 (I think only 1-2 Tesla owners in front of us) and configured late afternoon on the 18th as soon as we saw the invite.

    Texas Hold Up!

That seems to be true for the Texas VINs. It looks like configuration date seems to be the primary indicator with invite date secondary. I'm kicking myself for not obsessively checking my Tesla account earlier in January instead of assuming we'd receive an email when we were able to configure...

I just posted what was on the site -- I think actual rates will depend on loan amount, term, credit rating, etc, so their 1.59% may be a teaser rate. When I looked further, I couldn't find any rates on the bank's site that appeared to be that low, however, UFCU did advertise the same rate so we...

    Texas Hold Up!

We have our fingers crossed. I was really glad to see the TX VIN postings late yesterday. We were ~25th in line in Austin and configured on January 18th (Model S owner since 2015), so hopefully we'll see something today -- my wife would love to get VIN for Valentine's day for her red Model 3 ;-)

    Texas Hold Up!

Given the somewhat non-linear distribution of VINs versus dates posted on forums and the invite spreadsheet, I suspect Tesla isn't assigning them serially, but instead randomly assigning cars VINs from one or two active VIN blocks. That would prevent the media, competitors, and rabid fans like...

    Texas Hold Up!

After Googling a bit, it looks like if you buy from CA and drive the car off the lot, then you pay the CA sales tax -- not sure what happens when you go to register it in Texas. If you put it on a truck, however, then you only pay the Texas tax (which sounds basically like what happens with a...

    Texas Hold Up!

I'll just be glad they are assigning Texas VINs. Seems like they shouldn't have issued the invites if they weren't willing to ship here. On the sales tax thread, I would gladly pay sales tax to another state since Texas doesn't want Teslas sold here -- they deserve to lose the revenue...

One thing I noticed in the Model 3 Invite spreadsheet is that states that disallow Tesla sales seem to be lagging in VIN assignments. Here are some interesting data points (these states disallow direct sales and have NO VINs assigned in the spreadsheet) Michigan: 3 configured, only delivery was...
