Used 2019 Raven Question - Carpet

Hey all Looked at a 2019 raven long range today that was in good shape (minus a few dings) and was thinking of pulling the trigger but the carpet seemed weirdly loose. Is this normal? My wife yanked up the driver floor mat and it started to pull the carpet up at the Velcro connection before I...

Refresh Model S/X yoke controls owners survey

Can you even imagine an alternate universe where they released this with a normal wheel and people were posting surveys asking if owners would have preferred a yoke control that you had to "get used to" at all You shouldn't have to get used to it. It's a steering wheel. The only reason to "get...

    Honest review of the wheel

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

I just want to know why I have to put in the Konami code now to turn on the seat heater so that instead I can dock a shortcut to the fart noise app

An honest review of the yoke

The control changes (yoke, no stalks) are the reasons I'm not buying this car. I like everything else they did, and I've been looking to upgrade from the 3 but holding out for a refresh hoping for a better interior layout, and they largely delivered. These changes baffle me.
  9. C

That Yoke though. I'm starting to miss it every time I see the wheel in a Plaid.

I feel the opposite way, I'm much more interested now that I see them without the Yoke. It's a family SUV not a spaceship.

    2021 Refresh Model S Discussion

Why did they refresh this and put in the same old tail light style that no other model they sell has? They must have ordered a metric ton of those tail lights

    2021 Refresh Model S Discussion

If you zoom all the way in to the bar with the hazard light you can see an unlit indicator all the way on the left of the bar. That's definitely where the manual gear select is. Hope they have a plan for not constantly triggering it when you're going for your phone

    2021 Refresh Model S Discussion

Can't wait for when they announce the yoke isn't coming and all the people telling us how it's this amazing thing that's gonna retract into the dashboard and you will pull back to fly and there will be hyper robotic AI dynamic turn scaling start telling us how great of an idea it is to not...

    About that "yoke" steering wheel

How does this in any way increase precision over a round wheel?

    About that "yoke" steering wheel

I just feel like if they were serious about this, they would be like: We extensively tested this to ensure safety and functionality. This is how it will work (describe how it works). These are the benefits and why we are sure you will love this new wheel. (list benefits). And not just dead...

    About that "yoke" steering wheel

Two problems I have literally never had in a car Didn't they sell the Model 3 center screen partly by telling us we didn't need to constantly look at this information? Now they are going to literally re-invent the steering wheel to make it easier to look at?
  16. C

    About that "yoke" steering wheel

Looks like the problem is that there's very little upside to it badum-tish

Model S Refresh Spotted in Ohio

All I'm saying is if you're going to reinvent the steering wheel on a car that's literally supposed to be coming out this week you would be road testing it. This is literally the first one we've seen and there's no yoke.

Model S Refresh Spotted in Ohio

I'm sure the judge will buy that explanation after the first accident when they sue and Tesla has to admit they didn't test it at all.

Model S Refresh Spotted in Ohio

If the test vehicle has a normal wheel at this stage there's no way it's not going to production. They aren't gonna YOLO a completely new production drive control in 2 weeks.

    Yoke Wheel in Action

Look at how effortless it is. It's almost as good as a circular steering wheel. Maybe one day we will get that innovation and it will be even better.

OMG - Wake Times from app are SOOOOHHHOOO SLOW.

Agreed. The wake up is so slow. If I'm leaving it parked in an airport for a weekend while I go on a trip then I'm worried about the drain. If I'm commuting I'm not worried about my car having 220 miles of range when I get home instead of 230.

    Missing Podcasts

Hey do you guys know if the podcast selection on TuneIn is only a subset of what they have? I've been listening to the new Bigfoot podcast called "Wild Thing". When I search for it on the TuneIn website they have it, but it doesn't show up when I search TuneIn for it on the model 3

MVPA lists odometer at over 1300 miles

There's no discount listed right now . . . You think they will play ball? I don't mind the mileage if they compensate for it somehow but I don't think I should pay full price for a car someone drove over 1k miles

MVPA lists odometer at over 1300 miles

Picking up tonight. Is this normal? I thought they put 50 miles on all of them. Are they really trying to drop a "new" car with 1300 miles on me?

Reserved 2/1/18 Ordered this past Monday (9/17) Red RWD Aero no AP Financed through Tesla Redmond WA (picking up at Bellevue showroom) Never had an edit button. Based on this thread I'm assuming ill be hearing from them soon to schedule delivery. I'll let you all know.

Arggh, another surprise price increase (red paint up another $500)

How much weed did he smoke last week? At $2500 is when you pick black out of sheer principle.

Disappointed in Tesla's pricing on paint

IndividualPaint basically lets you pick whatever color you want. If Tesla wants to let me pick whatever color I want for $2k that sounds fair to me. That's not the same as saying "you want our standard red option? $2k please".
  36. C

Disappointed in Tesla's pricing on paint

True. It's not a scam or some great injustice. But pricing of options does impact configuration. For example, I've been waiting for my quarterly stock vest to order. I was going with AWD with 19" rims, red. Now I'll just get RWD with Aeros. Tesla in the end isn't going to get $1500 more out of...

Disappointed in Tesla's pricing on paint

I really don't understand the whole "Tesla is allowed to make money" and "this is capitalism" posts. Newsflash: complaining about the price change and changing your order due to it are also capitalism.
  38. C

Disappointed in Tesla's pricing on paint

Tesla is absolutely within their rights to do this. And this is in no way a scam. The price is clearly shown. But it's still bullshit*t to charge $2k for premium paint. What does BMW charge, $550? It was high when it was $1k. It was bananas when they raised it to $1.5k. $2k? Where the hell...

    Who's tinted their windows?

How did they do with the transition to the roof? Does it look weird at all or were they able to make it look pretty seamless? I'm in Redmond too, and when my M3 comes I'd like to tint the sides and the back as well
  42. C

Model 3 Aero Wheel Cap Kit

Do you think they would sell me the caps and lug caps in silver (the ones for the standard S turbines)? I really want to powder coat the 18" rims silver and I think the S caps would look really nice and finish off the look in a way this kit would not.

How does it take 4-6 months for new reservations?

I also think projecting order conversions from that initial batch onto later reservations will overstate the number of orders for first production vehicles. In other words, if you plunked down $1k sight unseen or a year early right after the announcement, you are probably more likely to be able...
  44. C

How does it take 4-6 months for new reservations?

I'm sure there's a lot of factors behind that discrepancy, but my guess is that 1. Tesla plans to fulfill every first production preorder they have before moving to lower models. 2. Tesla held back orders to bump the 200k delivery in the US to July 1st to maximize the tax credit. After that...
  45. C

How does it take 4-6 months for new reservations?

If PUP becomes mandatory you'll have even less people in the queue. Lots of people plunked money down for a $35k car.
  46. C

How does it take 4-6 months for new reservations?

Surely it will go up, but considering the first production is 40% more expensive than the SR standard car everyone was so hyped about, I doubt it will shoot up that much. A lot more people can afford a $35k car than can afford a $50k car.
  47. C

Model 3 standard range postponed until Early 2019

Not cancelling or anything, and Tesla doesn't owe anyone a tax credit, but I gotta say - I honestly don't get the "if you need the tax credit you can't afford this car" posts, honestly. It can drop the cost of the car by net up to 21%. Don't be such a snob.
