Model X Travel Trailer Consumption Analysis

I've been seeing exactly what's been reported here, in the neighborhood of 550 Wh/mi at 55mph. The Airstream's energy consumption makes travel feasible, whereas the Little Guy's kept me from going on any long trips.

Model X Travel Trailer Consumption Analysis

I always set the cruise control to 55 mph. Another MX owner has experienced similar energy consumption. He says that he plans on only 80 miles between charges.

Model X Travel Trailer Consumption Analysis

I'd like to add another trailer to this consumption-analysis thread, the Little Guy Max from Liberty Outdoors. I should say first that it's a very nicely built 21' trailer with a dry weight of 3140 lbs. However, the energy consumption was abysmal. Often I'd see TeslaFi Wh/Mi reports in the...

Please help me identify the ticking fan noise in this video I took.

The guys at the local SC suggest that we log the days & times when we hear the noise (mine is very intermittent) to enable them to download the car's logs to help debug the problem.

    Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller

I was just told by the SC techs that the 12v auxiliary pin of the trailer plug is not connected on newer MX vehicles, although it was on older cars. They had no idea why this change was made. Instead of using another vehicle to pair the controller, I worked around the problem by connecting the...

Where did you put your EzPass?

I put mine beside the mount for the rear-view mirror, on the passenger side. It seems to work.

Please help me identify the ticking fan noise in this video I took.

I'm having the same problem. The noise disappears as soon as I turn the AC off. It also seemed to be correlated with stop and go driving (parking lot, traffic jam, etc.). A trip to the SC was wasted because they didn't hear the noise and didn't find anything. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

    Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller

Thanks, but trailer mode is fine. As soon as I plug the 7-pin cable in, it's enabled.

    Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller

My MX is only a couple of months old but that adapter is cheap enough that it's worth a try. Just ordered one from Amazon. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller

I had a Tekonsha Prodigy RF brake controller installed on my travel trailer and am having problems with it. The remote (in the car) will not pair when the trailer-side unit is plugged into the MX. The behavior is like the trailer-side unit is not getting power. It does, however, pair when...
