Thanks, that makes sense. What confused me is that we also purchased a different hybrid vehicle around that time that included TACC and auto steer and didn't have to give that any thought at the time. I guess I should have purchased the "autopilot" option when I bought the model 3.

My autopilot is plan old cruise control. I have no TACC nor auto steer on my May 2018 LR M3 despite this graphic stating it is standard on all Tesla vehicles. Am I missing something?

I have same rattle but on the passenger side A-pillar/dash. I've put up with it for over three years now, but it somehow has become more annoying over the last week. I've tried everything. If only someone could You Tube how to remove the dash so I could get to that area!

I've experienced it a few times and it is a mild force, sometimes to the point I am not even sure it tried to redirect me but I am sure it did due to the sound alarm and/or the red lines on the screen. It is easy to resist it, so don't give any big response to over correct - that is my advice.

Good point, but the car warms up quickly without preheat so far this season, so I don't preheat. Thus, from what I've learned today, I am going to charge to 80% (instead of just 60%) and only plug in 3 nights per week. That should cut the electric bill down quite a bit!

In Michigan, my 240V home charger usage almost doubled from a month of 50 degree nights to a month of 30 degree nights. I suppose this is due to the plugged in Model 3 using power to keep the battery at a protective temperature??? I also do use about 30 miles of electricity per day driving...

I don't have auto pilot. But I have set my AEB on my M3 to it's most sensitive setting and cannot get it to work! I try to drive quickly up to a vehicle at highway speeds in the slow lane and nothing happens. Should something happen?

Thanks evJoule. The app, though, only has a climate control for the interior. So someone should know by experience if that when you heat the interior, that is what is used to heat/precondition the battery.

Dumb question here: How does one precondition/heat the battery? Do you just turn on the car heater to max?

I like to wash my car at home too, but in Michigan, we have a good 4-5 months of salty road slush blanketing our cars and it is too cold to wash at home.

Will charge port open when phone is in car with me and the port is touched by brushes when the M3 is in neutral?
