    Safety Score

The street up to my house is kind of narrow and it curves, with cars parked on both sides. I would always get false positive FCW with the medium setting so I changed it to late. Now I’m getting penalized on my safety score for these false positives. I’m not sure what to do other than to try...

    3 LR RWD - 325 mile Test

Thanks for sharing. I have similar results from my charging history, so it's good to see it from others as well.

    3 LR RWD - 325 mile Test

My charging data pre- and post-update seem to support the exact numbers you are suggesting. I took an average of 15 or so charges before the update, and in those charges, about 7.2 kWh of energy was added for every 10% increase in SOC of the battery. This would equate to 72 kWh for 100% of the...

    3 LR RWD - 325 mile Test

Cool. It seems like just repeating that test now should be a good indicator of whether there is any increase in capacity. I've done the opposite, where I looked at the amount of kWh added to charge through a specific range of the battery (in terms of % SOC), and also compared kWh added to rated...

    3 LR RWD - 325 mile Test

Do you have data from before the 5.15 update to compare against? Or do you know what others have seen with respect to kWh consumed from 100% to almost 0%?

Anyone notice an increase in range after software update to 20195.15 f5def7e

With the limited charging I have done so far since the 5.15 update, it looks like we are actually getting more usable battery capacity, i.e. more kWh available. Using a metered EVSE (ChargePoint), I seem to be getting more kWh added than before for the same percentage increase in SOC %. The...

    Model 3 Software Update 2019.5.x

My suggestion would be to have it pop up a little switch when you put the car in Park, maybe under the dash cam icon, so you can see the setting and quickly change it. Ideally Sentry Mode would keep the setting from the last time you parked, but at least this would make it easy to enable if it...

    Model 3 Software Update 2019.5.x

I realized that I do have a metered EVSE with a history that I can view, since I charge at work with ChargePoint. I just compared the kWh added in the ChargePoint history against the rated miles added (logged in Teslafi) for each charge at this location. The 15 charges before the update...

    Model 3 Software Update 2019.5.x

That's an interesting thought. My charge rate, displayed in miles/hour, was the same as before. I use this same charger at work almost every day and consistently get 23 mi/hr, and it was the same today. Of course, the precision is limited since it doesn't display fractions of a mi/hr...

    Model 3 Software Update 2019.5.x

I agree completely, although my observation here is not based on the reported range, but the charge energy added in kWh. Granted, I don't know what the accuracy of this measurement is as it comes from the car, and I only have one data point so far. But it is interesting that the energy added...

    Model 3 Software Update 2019.5.x

Looking at my charging data on Teslafi, it looks like it actually takes more energy getting from 80% to 90%. So it seems that it's not just a display or calculation change, but an actual increase in effective range. Looking at some past charges in my recent history, the amount of charge added...

    Model 3 Software Update 2019.5.x

I got the 5.15 update yesterday afternoon (LR RWD). I just charged to 90% and got 284 miles. Teslafi says my 100% range would be 316 miles. Before this update, 90% charges would typically give me 278-279. The few times I charged to 100%, I would get 309-310.

    What about the tow hitch?

Hmm, I wonder if they would sell just the 1.25" hitch receiver part, and if it would fit into the same receiver under the bumper since I already have my 2" hitch installed. I might sometimes prefer a 1.25" hitch for a bit of additional clearance.

    What about the tow hitch?

I just noticed that there’s an easier way to turn off the audio alerts! I’m not sure if this has always been there, but there is a little speaker icon to the left of the car info display that you can just tap to turn it off. I circled it in my photo below.

    What about the tow hitch?

The audio alerts can be turned off by going into the settings for "Safety & Security" and then tapping the gear icon in the upper right to view more options. From here, you can disable the Park Assist Chimes. I've tested this with my bike rack + bike and it works.

Torklift Central Stealth EcoHitch for Model 3

@Randy Spencer - Thank you for pointing me to the other thread. There was a lot of useful information that gave me enough confidence to perform the install myself. I'm happy to say that it went pretty smoothly and was a success! Some notes from my experience that may help others in the future...

Torklift Central Stealth EcoHitch for Model 3

Shoal007 - How difficult was it to install yourself? Any tricks or advice? I am fairly handy but do not have experience with body work and removing bumpers. I just received mine and I’m trying to determine if I can do this myself or if I should find an installer. Anybody have recommendations...
