    Supercharger - Federal Way, WA

Just finished charging here and I too capped out at ~150 kW / V2 rates before tapering down. I give it a week or two before they let it rip.

Rear Passenger Audio Experience (is Poor)

TL;DR: Sitting in the back sucks if you like listening to full-sounding music, sitting in the front is only slightly better. Service Center and Mobile Service won't/can't resolve it, seems to be a fundamental design/engineering area of opportunity. Hi TMC, I've been fighting this issue for as...

How far does your front door open when pressing door button?

Anecdotally, my front doors always pop out ~1" or so, enough to tell a first-timer that the door is open. My rear doors, however, don't do this. They just unlatch and if the passenger exiting doesn't apply force to the door at this moment, the door would relatch and the button would have to be...

1 year ownership - "Air" noise perspectives

Anecdotally, I'd say the same for my September 2018 car. The seals may have gotten softer through the Winter/Spring season and the car is actually a bit quieter over the rumble-strip that is I-5 in Seattle...

    Model 3 paint wearing off

I can confirm that the rocker panels near the rear wheels on both sides of my car are 100% road rashed. No offroading, no gravel, and it still looks peppered. Dr. ColorChip makes a road rash kit for most/all of Tesla's paint codes and is ~$70 USD delivered... I may entertain this since I feel...

Paint correction and ceramic coating on Metallic Silver. Worth it?

Paint correction, polish, and ceramic coat makes exterior maintenance washes SO easy, the car loves to be clean. I would totally miss my graphics card though...

    Paint Experts Please Chime In

You'll have to even it out before you use touch up paint, but I can confirm that the OEM touch up paint on the Tesla Shop is insanely good stuff, I've used it quite a bit and it's pretty much liquid magic in a bottle.

    Horrendous brake feel

After driving my dad's GT350, I can tell you all right now that the brakes in the Model 3 come nowhere close to the massive Brembos on that thing. However, the brakes on my car are nice and stop the car quickly, but I agree that something about the feel (bite, short pedal travel, etc.) is lacking.

Reducing noise and keeping the door sills clean

I completed the seals on just the passenger side front and back doors and to my dismay, it actually increased the road noise entering the cabin. It turns out that not only does it make the doors slightly harder to close, the seals are causing the door to not shut as tightly as it did, causing...

Turning Steering Wheel while not moving noise.

Since regen braking takes care of 90% of the braking in the Model 3, the brake pads don't see much wear at all. Due to this, the pads develop surface rust, especially if you experience a lot of rain and/or humidity in your region. The brake rotors are also rotating slightly when you turn the...

Mountain Pass Performance Coilovers for RWD M3

That's as perfect of a fit as you could ask for. Did you have your alignment shop adjust toe/camber? What wheels/tires are those? Also, could you detail what you meant by "firm but soft?" I'm seriously torn between Sport and Comfort, especially since the price difference is non-trivial.

Tesla to be make big announcement Thursday 2PM Pacific Time

Here's an analysis I saw: 1. The last animal-themed tweetstorm was about LeMR, and since the elephant in the room is Model 3 Standard Range, all bets are on that. 2. Bonus points for HW3 and Supercharger v3/Megacharger.

    P3D is... slow?

The only time I felt the car was "slow" is after 60mph. The 0-60 time is still very, very quick to me, even ~3 months later.

Closing Two Front Doors - Need to slam it?

Somewhat related, but I came across this thread on Reddit about Toyota and their near-OCD approach when it comes to consistency and reliability. There's a reason virtually everyone associates "Toyota" with "Reliable." What is it about Toyota that makes them so reliable? : cars

Wiki Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

All records indicate that Tesla has been prioritizing Performance Model 3 deliveries, especially when it nears the end of a quarter. I would visit the edit-design page and make the order change yourself, many other members have reported long lag times between a call/email to upgrade vs. making...

    Continued Delivery Issues

I've heard cases where buyers would make the ACH transaction from their phone in front of the delivery advisor the moment they take delivery of the car, but that's unfortunate. Hopefully state legislatures change that policy sooner than later.

    Continued Delivery Issues

This makes for an important reminder to people who haven't yet taken delivery but have an appointment: do not pay Tesla anything (ACH or otherwise) until you can sit in your car and it has everything you've ordered. I brought a cashier's check to my delivery appointment based on this advice that...

Bellevue Delivery rescheduled me from 9/24 to 9/28 on 9/23. Initial contact was 9/17 and my California-based IDA has been extremely helpful. I dropped by there this afternoon and one of them said that they’re getting 12 trucks from Tacoma (staging area) this evening. The cars on those trucks...

Bad news. Delivery rescheduled from Monday 9/24 to Friday 9/28. There's apparently been a delay trucking the car from Tacoma to the Bellevue DC. Can't say I'm not surprised but it does still suck to have everything lined up for one day just to have it move. Thankfully it's only a few days and...

Yikes. I was assigned and told my VIN as soon as my car finished production ~3 days after my edit link disappeared. My IDA has been very responsive (read: responds to emails in minutes) and even called me to clarify a few things we discussed over email. All paperwork was generated within the...

P3D with Performance Upgrade and Black Interior status

Seems many of us are encountering issues tracking our VINs on their system. I was able to successfully find my car's location last night, but I'm getting the "cannot find" error today. Maybe United Road's system is down ATM?

Was just informed from the SoDo delivery center that cars arrive on-site as late as the day prior to the delivery appointment. There's a massive staging area in Tacoma where they centralize all the cars before going off to the only two DCs in the area: SoDo and Bellevue-20th St. United Road...

VIN differentiation for Digit 8 occurs when there's a physical drivetrain difference. In the case of P, there's arguably none.
  39. F

    AWD delivery thread

The Model 3 P doesn’t have a designation for performance in the VIN, it’s just the dual motor “B.” Double edged sword, since insurance companies won’t ever know which one you got!

Any Performance owners regret not getting the perf upgrade package?

I had the luxury of driving both back to back and there's a lot more oomph in the AWD from a dead stop than the RWD. It's not Ludicrous or P3D levels, but it's still good and makes everyone in the car gasp all the same.

Thinking about upgrading to Performance. Change my mind.

A lot of people buy performance-oriented cars without all of the creature comfort boxes checked. The point of getting a car like that is that you're buying the drivability and performance first, and then everything else second. My dad has a 2018 GT350 that has horrendous fit and finish issues...
