Just a random observation with this location — all of the pedestals are installed backwards.

Rubbing noise from falcon wing doors when driving

The red lines are where there are potential contact points between the door panel and the trim of the door frame. I first focused on lubrication of the door frame trim (just a 1/2 inch line of WD40 along the red line of the edge of the frame trim) but I found that it’s really hard to pin down...

Rubbing noise from falcon wing doors when driving

Yes that’s the sound. I’m away from my X for a week but I can post a picture next week.

    Supercharger - Bloomington, MN

Charge at Minnetonka or St Louis Park. If you're coming in at 25%, you can charge the next day when you're out and about. Neither charger is that far given its all highway driving. They are both at Targets so you can do some shopping when your car is charging.

    Enphase Solar and Powerwall integration

My installer was out today to look at my Tesla Gateway for the discrepancy between the Tesla CT and my Enphase monitoring (Tesla always reports 7% more solar than is actually produced). They brought with them 3 new Tesla CTs and their own meter. They literally swapped out the CT until they found...

    Supercharger - Sturgeon Bay, WI

I agree, I think the only time it makes sense is if there is physical damage to a pedestal or cabinet that Tesla might not be able to detect. The NAV showed 6 stalls available when I was the only one there and it went to 7 when I left making it completely empty, so they definitely know one is down.

    Supercharger - Sturgeon Bay, WI

We were still planning to come here even if we had to use L1 and L2 charging, but I doubt most would. This Supercharger was so convenient and I’m glad they got this built. We saw so many Tesla’s this weekend!

    Supercharger - Sturgeon Bay, WI

Great location and works well, except stall 1C has no power. The other three stalls on that cabinet seem to work fine, though.

    Another price increase

Pricing is factoring in significant inflation and that orders placed today won't be delivered until mid-2023. My Model X that I took delivery on in March 2022 was 109K before reg/taxes and is now 142K!

Yes its been in the NAV for over a week. Sturgeon Bay, WI is also live now.

Yes! I don't have to deal with level 2 at all now! Wonderful news for our July 4 weekend trip!

    Enphase Solar and Powerwall integration

A good CT should be able to be this accurate. Our issue is that the Tesla CT in the Tesla Gateway routinely reports 7-10% more power than is actually there. There is something specific to the way the Enphase system is set up that is creating this problem, and I have no idea why. Voltage spikes?

    Supercharger - Sturgeon Bay, WI

Just need to paint the lines and get commissioned! I'm holding out hope this will be on by the July 4th long weekend.

    No Solar being generated

Agreed, I think Tesla races to the bottom in price too, and microinverter systems tend to be more expensive.

    Supercharger - Lake Delton, WI

Wonderful news! We will be there with our new Model X in 10 days!

    Enphase Solar and Powerwall integration

Interesting thanks. I find the grid import/export CT is very accurate and aligned well with my utility meter. Its just the way Tesla measures solar on these Enphase systems that's messed up and I don't have a good explanation as to why! I too just depend on my Enlighten data for the most...

Most likely the transformer will sit on a preformed pad

    Enphase Solar and Powerwall integration

Did you ever determine the cause of this overreported solar and could your installer correct it? My Enphase system suffers the same problem with Tesla reporting 7% more solar than I actually produced.
  19. A

    No Solar being generated

Ugh I'm so sorry about this. I really wish Tesla used microinverters which can prevent complete loss of arrays like this. My system was installed by a third party and I have Enphase microinverters, so if one panel goes down the rest of the array can still produce.

Decreased production since April - What happened?

Are you still getting errors when you log into the inverter? Does the inverter keep track of production for each string independently? This would allow you to at least isolation string 3 as the cause of the production issue. They need to come out and fully test out string 3. I would demand they...

Minor collision, what to look out for. Advice

Make sure the collision shop you work with is Tesla certified. Have them pre-order all the parts that are visibly broken and set up an appointment at least 8-12 weeks out to give enough time for the parts to arrive. Since your car looks driveable, this will shorten the time that you are stuck in...

    Supercharger - Sturgeon Bay, WI

It seems to be a Wisconsin thing. Our local MSP Superchargers are usually up within 2 weeks of work being completed. Those two last year took forever (we had actually planned a trip to Chicago last year thinking they would be done but ended up having to use the old chargers and timing our...

    Supercharger - Sturgeon Bay, WI

Holy crap they went from a hole in the ground to a nearly completed Supercharger in 3 days! Just need a meter and commissioning, but those covers are a sign that we won't see this up and running for a while (based on what we are seeing at Wisconsin Dells and Janesville). We'll be up in Door...

    Supercharger - Bloomington, MN

Probably still a couple weeks to go, based on previous patterns of Supercharger commissioning in the Twin Cities (ie, St Paul Target). I haven't been out to this one, but from the pictures the green transformer is still missing.

    Supercharger - Sturgeon Bay, WI

Is there even any charging cabinets on site? It doesn't look like Tesla has delivered any of the actual equipment needed to complete this Supercharger yet, just the prep/trenching and new curb were done.

    Supercharger - Lake Delton, WI

If Tomah and Menomonie are any indication of what's to come, we might be waiting months. Both of those locations took forever to come online, even when all work was done for weeks.

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

My car works. I'm not going to purposely do things during Supercharging that I don't normally do to just satisfy your curiosity. I could not reproduce the issues I was having with my car under normal use, so yes, my car is fixed.

When did you have your computer replaced? I thought you refused to let Tesla repair it? I'm so confused.

Rubbing noise from falcon wing doors when driving

Key is figuring out where it is rubbing. I examined my doors from the inside with them closed, captains chairs moved all the way forward. I used an index card and pushed it into the space between the door and door frame and was able to figure out where it was touching. I was also able to find...

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

I drove 300 miles yesterday over 5 hours straight and Supercharged one time. No issues at all (I received the SW update and new a computer).

I think my service center has been replacing computers like crazy because they have them in stock.

    Battery failure at supercharger

I doubt they can give you free Supercharging. But they should cover the tow. And the plus side of things is you have a brand new pack with no degredation!

Rubbing noise from falcon wing doors when driving

Yeah I have some, but want to see how long it will last without it. I think these parts will flex and "weather" in with time. I suspect the rubbing sound will go away with time even without using a lubricant.

Rubbing noise from falcon wing doors when driving

In case anyone has this same issue with their new X, I was able to figure out where it was rubbing by inspecting the FWD from the inside with the door closed and the middle seats pushed all the way forward. My X door panel was rubbing on the outer most black trim piece around where the trim...

    Model X 2020 vs 2022 suspension

It feels pretty smooth to me and not very bouncy. Its a similar ride to other cars I've owned with an air suspension (mostly Range Rovers). I drove a demo 2020 Model X and the ride doesn't seem appreciably different, although that test drive was back in 2020 so its hard to remember. If you have...

    Battery failure at supercharger

Unlikely that this was the Supercharger but just a bad HV pack module that failed during fast charging. Honestly, I would ask them to pay for the tow since its under warranty. Roadside is only for the first 4 years or 50K miles, but a HV failure is entirely on Tesla.

That was my part number when they replaced my MCU last week. I am now on 12.3.3 but have not tried to Supercharge yet.

New Model X hung while Supercharging

FYI this is now an active recall and impacts all Tesla's produced with the AMD Ryzen CPU. The main computer has a tendency to overheat when Supercharging or preconditioning for fast charging. It is fixed with a firmware update to 2022.12.3.3.

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

I suggest you keep driving your broken car forever and fixing it yourself. Just kidding. Seriously speaking, give them the car so they can fix it. Demand a loaner (even if its an ICE from a rental company). And most importantly, move on once they fix it. It's only a car and it seems to be...

Rubbing noise from falcon wing doors when driving

I have a 2022 Model X and both falcon wing doors make a rubbing sound (plastic on plastic sounds) when driving on uneven or rough roads. I stopped by the service center and the tech thought it was just the door panel rubbing against the trim that surrounds the doors and that there was no real...

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

The issue people have is how much speculation is on this thread. I suspected overheating too since it happens only when fast charging for me, but ultimately it doesn’t matter what I think as Tesla has to diagnose the car. I’m very happy with my service center—the communication can sometimes be...

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

Tesla replaced my car computer, similar to what was reported earlier in this thread. At least I have a new part that’s never overheated, given the new report that a firmware update is needed to fix this. I’m not going to test Supercharging until the new software drops. My service center never...

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

So sorry, its hard to own a car when there is no local service center. It does sound like a bad camera that needs to be replaced. Hopefully they can diagnose remotely, order the part, and you can make one trip and get everything fixed in one go. Or maybe Mobile Coverage will be back sometime...

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

I've added the OP to my ignore list. His posts don't show up anymore. Please do use this thread to report back progress or lack thereof. I still think the jury is out whether this is truly a hardware defect or a firmware issue related to the mix of semiconductor sources that Tesla has been using...

Child Safety Issue with Falcon Wing Doors

Agree with you, this requires tried and true parenting, not physically altering the car. I squirm at the notion from the earlier poster that hitting a child is necessary. Our 9-year old kid got into his fair share of trouble, but we have never had to hit him ever in his life. He learns through...

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

Agreed. There is also a high likelihood that none of us know the exact solution to this problem. It could be solved with firmware. It could be a bad module somewhere in the car. Only Tesla can figure this out so we need to keep reporting it and bugging service until a solution is found.

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

My charging session went fine but the screens crashed 5 minutes after I left. The behavior was markedly different than before though. They literally turned off—not the weird warnings like before.

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

Argh, spoke too soon. 5 minutes after leaving the SC, the car beeped, screens went **black**, backup gear controls appeared next to the phone chargers. Main screen came back almost immediately but dash screen stayed black. Forced reboot fixed it. Logged the bug and will contact service (again).

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

I drove for 60 minutes, preconditioning all the way, to a V3 supercharger today and my car did not freak out. I peaked at 230 kW and charged for 25 minutes. Everything still works. I’m on 2022.12.3.1. It’s the first SC session I’ve had where the car acted normal.
