Do you regret updating to use Tesla Vision and disabling your radar? Would you go back if you can?

So the whole discussion is now pointless for me, as I no longer have a choice, the 2023.2.10 was forced into my car by the Tesla service team in advance of a mobile service call. So far only the auto wipers have been annoying a couple of times, but have to do more driving to see how this evolves

Do you regret updating to use Tesla Vision and disabling your radar? Would you go back if you can?

Hello all, for those that upgraded and were disappointed with Tesla Vision, have you seen any improvements over the last weeks? Are you still regretting jumping into Tesla Vision? For background: I’m still holding to 2022.20.8, it irks me to miss out on recent updates but at the same time, I’m...

Climate keeper unavailable due to system fault.

I am confirming that the problem went away on its own after a good night “deep sleep” of the car. Thanks!!

Climate keeper unavailable due to system fault.

Got this errror immediately after the mobile service rep left after changing my screen due to an unrelated issue. I am convinced it is something they did. The guy tells me that it’s the humidity sensor, that he did not touch it, and to open a new ticket for it.

Help: I Can't Connect the Connector Under the Glove Box.

You need to engage AP, then reset the screen while on AP, then don’t hold the wheel until AP starts nagging you until you will hear the speaker beep asking you to take over. Needless to say do this on an empty road.

Idea for easier control of wipers

This has been suggested many times for years now, in Twitter, here, and everywhere else, but it has never been acknowledge by Tesla or Elon so don't lose your sleep waiting...

    Supercharger - Doral, FL

Today saw power cabinets and 8 stalls installed and plastic wrapped, nobody around to ask about status but it seems quite ready for inspection.

    Supercharger - Doral, FL

Well the building permit was finally issued today 8/25, so let’s see how long it takes to be built.

    Supercharger - Doral, FL

FWIW, just drove by, there are no indications of any kind of construction work. The new permit shows “fees due”.

Help: I Can't Connect the Connector Under the Glove Box.

Well I am glad I found this thread. After removing the panel to change the air filter, the speaker connector practically broke itself when trying to disconnect it, not sure if it was already half-broken by the service center last time I took it, or simply a just a very poor quality connector...

Model Y Long Range Rear Wheel Drive (LR RWD)

Serious question, have you seen anything similar to the 3-rows model from any other manufacturer? Asking cause I’m on the same boat but I’ve not seen anything close

    Supercharger - Doral, FL

Permit application for a V3 supercharger station in Doral FL has been submitted, this is at the WAWA on 87th Ave and 33rd St, about 1 mile from the Palmetto expressway. The Colombian restaurant next door is also pretty good! Nice to see more options in South FL. Permit Number BDCC-2104-0061...

Download erased ALL settings & data. Anyone else?

Same thing happened to me, lost all settings and user profiles after a soft reset with this new update. There are other reports out there on the same thing, it looks may be related to a security patch. Discussed on the firmware thread , suggest we follow there...

    Firmware 2020.48.x

Similar thing happened to me but without the error message. Update went well but Wifi was acting weird for 2 days so did a soft reset (2 button) which threw the car into a loop of what felt like 4 consecutive resets which deleted all user customizations, wifi and driver profiles, trip counters...

    Firmware 2020.48.x

An update: it’s working now. What did the trick was I had to take it for a drive to “warm up” I guess and after a grocery stop it started working again, all of the USBs sticks working.

    Firmware 2020.48.x

Is anyone experiencing Dashcam / Teslacam issues with 2020.48.10? I updated this morning and immediately gave me the error that the USB was running out of space. I formatted it form the screen and the car can’t see it anymore. Tried 4 different USB drives formatted with FAT32 and ExFAT, windows...

How I Recovered Half of my Battery's Lost Capacity

Sonewhere up thread I read that it takes several WEEKS of data points for the BMS to recalculate, i don’t think a week’s worth will do the trick

How I Recovered Half of my Battery's Lost Capacity

This part needs to be highlighted because it is precisely the opposite of what the car asks us to do. Last month came back from a road trip with about 5% left, as soon as I press PARK the car gives me a warning to charge it ASAP to minimize the risk of going below zero. I obeyed and...

Why Do Electricians Charge So Much To Install EV Outlets?

In fact, touching 240v is no different than touching 120v when the main breaker is OFF, which is how anyone should be doing this job.

    Supercharger - Brunswick GA

Similar story here... Nav directed me here, the whole site was down and had to draft behind a truck to barely make it to Kingsland. Lesson learned: if the Nav does not show the # of stalls available on a site, the whole site may be down, be sure to have enough for a backup plan before relying...

Jail time for adjusting wipers? (software dreams inside)

This is what needs to be done. I have suggested a couple of times already to Tesla but got a form response that they would pass it up to the appropriate team.... Hopefully this time around this will cause some traction.

Long Road trip with Y or ICE????

I have to agree with this. You can do all the planning in advance but it only takes one unscheduled bathroom/food stop at the nearest supercharger and your original plan is now worthless.

    2020.24.6.4 !

Because when in neutral, you cannot react fast enough if an emergency happens. Even worse, the car cannot react (think Emergency Braking, AutoSteer, etc). By coasting in Neutral you are forcing a very smart car to be dumb. Not to mention that really there are no efficiency gains.
  25. G

    Supercharger - Fort Drum, FL

An easy way to tell is if they don’t have the usual 1A/1B nomenclature then they are V3, cause V3 don’t share power between 2 stalls

    Cabin Overheat Protection

Actually I was thinking about this thread yesterday. With the quarantine it could be several days of the car parked without moving, but I only get COP for the first 12 hours then nothing. It would be ideal for the 12h limit to only apply when not plugged in.
  27. G

    Coasting in Neutral

Worse than you having no control, the bigger problem is that while in Neutral, the car does not have control. This means none of the active safety features that could save your life will be able to do anything when the unexpected happens.

Poll: Is FSD Worth the Cost?

Short answer: No, in my opinion. Long answer: since FSD is a purchase that cannot be carried over to your next vehicle, the cost is not an absolute number, it must be amortized over your expected ownership. Take the likelihood of full FSD benefits becoming available before when you think...

Supercharger - Miami, FL - SW 24th St. (Coral Gables)

One of the 8 stalls is designated as handicapped parking. Can anyone explain how is this supposed to work? Is this an effort to prioritize charging for disabled Tesla drivers? Anyone with a disabled parking permit can ICE the stall? Do other superchargers have similar setups?

Leave J1772 adapter attached and locked, ready to charge

You are describing a different scenario, where someone unplug the charging cable from your adapter while you’re charging, and yes there are aftermarket solutions for that. The scenario here is the opposite. Instead of unplugging you, that person could leave his adapter inserted and locked into...

Leave J1772 adapter attached and locked, ready to charge

That has been my experience as well, the car will not lock a stand alone adapter. The rain is a valid concern, I would only do this if parked at a covered garage.
  33. G

Leave J1772 adapter attached and locked, ready to charge

That is correct if you were charging already and unplug the charging cable. But the adaptor is vulnerable if you plug it in by itself, waiting for others to plug you in when done.
  34. G

Leave J1772 adapter attached and locked, ready to charge

The way it should work is: the adapter stays securely locked to the locked car, nobody can steal it, but anyone could plug a charging cable once one is available. The adapter should remain locked until you arrive and unlock the car. But I tried with a spare adapter and it’s the same: the car...

Leave J1772 adapter attached and locked, ready to charge

The charge port is not stuck since as soon as I connect the UMC cable it locks it. But if I connect the un-energized adapter it seems it does not detect it and remains unlocked (I am able to remove it and reinsert it several times). I will borrow another adapter to try if perhaps my adapter is...

Leave J1772 adapter attached and locked, ready to charge

It does not work for me the way you describe it. With the car locked, I open the port with the app, plug the adapter and the car does not lock it in. It’s like the car does not even notice the adapter is there. If I unlock and lock the car again the port tries to close but the adapter gets in...

Leave J1772 adapter attached and locked, ready to charge

I am looking for a way to leave my car locked (in a public charging place) with the J1772 adapter into the charging port, locked to the car, but ready to accept charge once another car is done and a Good Samaritan plugs me in. I have already tried several combinations of locking the car...

    Wall Charger Availability

The UMC cable is exactly 7/16 of an inch thick. I just use an aluminum piece 1/2” thick next to it and the door closes without grabbing the cable at all, and without leaving any noticeable gap either.

    Wall Charger Availability

OR, You could install the 14-50 INSIDE the garage, the mobile charger connected inside protected from the elements, and the cable going under the garage door and neatly hanging outside with a Tesla cable organizer. The cable is thin enough that you can close the garage over it even after...

    Wall Charger Availability

You might have one more option not mentioned yet. If you have an electric drier near your garage, buy the $35 14-30 adapter and you will be able to get 23 miles/hr until you install a permanent solution. Plus you get to keep the adapter which can be very handy for visiting friends/family...

    A few (early) 3 questions

One thing you need to do: go to Supercharger | Tesla and see if you have a supercharger conveniently located along your 240mi route, if yes then you are good to go. If not then you need to see how much more charge can you get at your destination, a 120V trickle charge would do fine if you...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.1 update released with 5% power increase

Back in April, the LR RWD went from 310m to 325m range and 5% more power, which I measured as going from 5.3s to 5.0s in 0-60 times (full throttle)

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.1 update released with 5% power increase

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.1 update released with 5% power increase

LR RWD here. I got the 5% power increase pushed last April and my times went from 5.3 to 5.0 (measured several times). This time around I honestly was not expected any increase but measured again twice and got 4.9. Hard to say if it’s really an incremental increase (2% not 5%) or within the...

Model 3 LR range is now listed @ 325 miles

The whole discussion is to some extent pointless. Regardless of whether we get 325, 310 or anything in between, how far the battery will take you does not change, because the capacity continues to be the same, it's just an adjustment on how that same capacity gets translated into estimated...
