Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

Those fellas have it wrong. The car uses your GPS from your phone on “Come to me” or the car’s GPS for the target. It doesn’t even need Bluetooth.

Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

It was mostly empty although there were cars going back an forth. Thought it was pretty neat when it stopped at the main road to make sure no cars were coming. I was alone so I couldn’t get any videos.

Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

For anyone interested, I just verified this not 30 minutes ago. I went to a local mall parking lot and used Smart Summon. I positioned my self at the very edge of the range as indicted on the phone screen. I turned off my Bluetooth on my iPhone and the Model 3 came to me perfectly. I repeated...

Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

I can see where that might be true when the vehicle is in close proximity but why would the very first line under “Smart Summon” in the release notes say “Smart Summon is designed to allow your car to drive to you (using your phone’s GPS as a target destination) ”

Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

Don’t even know what that is or how to do it. Just doesn’t make sense. You could be the same distance behind your car as in front of your car and Bluetooth wouldn’t know the difference. You’re obviously an expert at everything Tesla so I will leave you alone.

Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

Didn’t know you could determine position with Bluetooth. Maybe distance but even that wouldn’t be all that accurate as I don’t believe there is any TOF used. While I’m sure there is some info being passed through BT, it cannot precisely know which direction to go. Btw, I’m not new to the forum...

Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

You clearly did not see the very first line under “Smart Summon” in the release notes.

Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

It clearly uses your phone’s GPS to establish if you’re in range or not. I’ve used enhanced summon for several months now and in some areas, my location jumps all over the place because my GPS is marginal in those areas.

    Garage Door left open... sometimes?

Maybe you did not see my post. I have verified this multiple times. Could you possibly be adjusting you position by going into reverse after you have pulled into your garage? Like maybe you were too far forward. EVERY time I did that it would not close the garage door the next time I left. Not...

    Garage Door left open... sometimes?

When you pull into your garage, if you adjust your position by reversing a little, the home link will not close your door the next time you leave.

    HomeLink wouldn't auto close (Solved)

Yes. It never auto closes if I go into reverse to adjust my position when pulling into the garage. If I do not go into reverse, it has always worked correctly. Of course that’s only been maybe a half dozen trials. Not a big sample.

    HomeLink wouldn't auto close (Solved)

I think you may be on to something. I have had the same issue periodically and there have been times that it would not auto close. I sometimes back the car up because I pull in too far. I think going into reverse starts the process. I didn’t make the connection but will certainly test it. Thanks
