    Squealing from rear end

Any tire shop should be able to do an alignment. Don't have to wait for Tesla and pay 2x the price.

Eibach springs + swaybars to MPP Comforts + Swaybars

I went from Eibach springs and UP sway bars to MPP comfort adjustable coilovers and UP sway bars. The difference is night and day. Much more comfortable, less bouncy, and the handling feels much more confident. I've tracked the car twice with these coilovers and they've impressed me each time.

MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

I’ve done one track day at Chuckwalla, was super painful and I wouldn’t recommend it for any Tesla owner. Indio supercharger is 50 miles away and there’s only one ChargePoint charger within a 20 mile radius.

Rear creaking noise when load shifts

Definitely possible, no idea why I haven't tried that yet. I'll definitely give it a shot sometime this week!

Curious if anyone knows why Unplugged Performance has changed design of rear coil over springs

Yeah me neither, but that’s the only possibility I can think of, since helper springs typically get compressed all the way under load. Maybe they shortened the actual spring too?

Curious if anyone knows why Unplugged Performance has changed design of rear coil over springs

Looks like a helper spring, so I’m guessing it’s just to keep the spring in place during installation.

    Lowering the Model 3

Not sure about any others, but the MPP coilovers reuse the OEM strut top hats, so they’ll need to compress the OEM spring to get that part off. The rears also use OEM spring isolators. Should be pretty standard stuff though.

MPP AWD/Performance Coilover Impression and Installation

You should’ve gotten it corner balanced after settling on a ride height. I doubt you’ll feel a difference on the street, but it definitely makes a difference for an experienced track driver.

    Model 3 service Estimate

Personally I'd get the alignment done at a tire shop (not sure about Discount Tire, but I normally go to independent shops). Any shop should be able to do it for $100-150.

Rear control arm bushing on the front replacement

Ah okay, makes sense! I have the inserts sitting around but was waiting for the solid bushings after I realized my stock ones were torn. I have a track day at the end of the month but I might just run them as-is since they’re not torn too badly.
  18. I

Rear control arm bushing on the front replacement

Do they stay secure even with torn bushings? I just don’t want to run the risk of them falling out.
  19. I

    Lowering the Model 3

The springs aren't matched to the valving of the stock dampers, resulting in harshness and occasional bounciness over bumps at speed. Coilovers are the way to do it properly. I've had 3 sets of UP springs and one set of Eibachs, and I'm currently on MPP comfort adjustable coilovers and don't...

Rear creaking noise when load shifts

They didn’t, unfortunately. What have they tried so far? That way I can avoid doing those. I took my bumper cover off two days ago and realized that the actual bumper bar wasn’t torqued down properly (body shop took it off while replacing quarter panel). I’m not sure if it’s placebo, but...

Rear control arm bushing on the front replacement

I emailed both MPP and SPL about them about a month ago. SPL said they were “about to release them” but I didn’t hear anything since. MPP said end of this month so it should be any day now.

Rear creaking noise when load shifts

Wow, I haven't actually seen any of the chassis weld or flex issues on the forums. That sounds like something that could be the cause of my noise. Were there any fixes for those issues?
  25. I

Rear creaking noise when load shifts

I know this seems like just another creaking/rattling noise post, but I've searched everywhere and haven't come across anyone with a similar issue (it's not any of the common issues, like upper control arms or rear seat latches). I have a 2018 Model 3 Performance (stealth), and I've been...

    Michelin Pilot Sport EV [tires]

They said it'll be included with vehicles starting Q3, but they were supposed to come out in April for aftermarket purchase. Michelin told me it would be available in June though, so hopefully in the next couple weeks.
  27. I

    Michelin Pilot Sport EV [tires]

I think you're missing my point here. You're correct in saying that most "enthusiasts" didn't know about rollout before they knew about Tesla, but I don't think that justifies the fact that Tesla uses a different standard of measurement across their lineup to purposely mislead customers. That's...
  28. I

    Michelin Pilot Sport EV [tires]

He's talking about the fact that Tesla uses 1ft rollout for performance model 0-60 times (Plaid, Model 3 Performance, etc), while the standard vehicles (normal S, LR, SR+, etc) have 0-60 times that aren't recorded with rollout. As a result, the gap between the performance and non-performance...

Clunk/ thump from driver front over bumps

Upper control arms are a common failure point for the Model 3 front suspension, but it usually makes more of a squeaking sound than a clunk. Another common issue is sway bar end links not being tight enough, and that’ll definitely clunk over bumps.
  30. I

Creaking noise from suspension - resolved!

My front compression link bushing also looks torn on the sides of the gaps. Both bushings look about the same. Would this cause random clunking in the suspension, sometimes over bumps and sometimes while accelerating or cornering?

[VIDEO] Model 3 Squeaking steering at low speeds

I’m guessing upper control arms. It’s a known failure point on these cars, and Tesla should warranty it unless you have aftermarket suspension parts that they can blame it on.

How does Model 3 RWD handle vs other sport cars?

I own a Model 3 Performance (modded, but I’ve driven plenty of stock RWD) and a 1991 Miata (fully stock). The weight distribution honestly feels very similar (Model 3 is also 50-50), but you’ll definitely feel the weight of the Tesla when cornering, especially if you’re coming from a Miata. The...

    Lowering an M3P stealth

From my experience, either go UP springs or MPP coilovers, depending on your budget. BC coilovers are just eBay garbage with a brand name. I’ve had the UP moderate and low springs and I’m currently running MPP comfort adjustable coilovers. I have the stealth. Definitely get suspension/brake...
