Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

LOL you reintroduced this a couple posts back a day later when it was done to “save face”. Get off your high horse 0-60 can be part of getting a good 1/4 time. It doesn’t prove or disprove a car’s performance, and is pointless by itself in trying to do so. That’s it
  2. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

Ya in a specific 0-60 thread LOL Main thing 0-60 matters for those of us that drag race is the initial launch and 60 foot time, to get the best 1/4 ET. Still has nothing to really do with showing what a car’s performance is Good try though. If you want to obsess on 0-60 only knock yourself out
  3. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

The 1/8, 1/4, and 60-130 are amazing for the “entry” model S! Those stats are all that matter
  4. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

You said it yourself, 0-60 is a marketing ploy by car makers (Ie, pointless 😉) So I wouldn’t labor over the 3.1 stat. Fact is, the LR accelerates from any roll speed quicker than the typical car that would be marketed at 0-60. For example, I use to have a 911 Turbo that did 0-60 in 2.8 and...
  5. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

So if you play that game and only look at Tesla’s quoted 0-60, both the 3P and LR are 3.1. So why did you think the LR would be “faster”? STILL, 0-60, meaning from an absolute standstill, most depends on the launching software for these EVs. The ONLY reason the 3P may have the same 0-60 is...
  6. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

Not deflecting anything, just basically saying get over it in a round about way because 0-60 doesn’t show anything for how quick the car is As the OP of this thread stated, 60-130 means a lot more and he was interested in the performance of the LR, which pretty much negates 0-60. It’s pointless...
  7. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

Exactly! New MSLR is running high 10s at almost 130mph. M3P is mid 11s around 115mph a and the Plaid was supposed to be a 200mph car…. It’s not easy for the Plaid to hit the magical 1.99 with rollout either. I’m sure the LR could do the 3.1 there just aren’t many owners doing Dragy runs with...

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

Exactly! New MSLR is running high 10s at almost 130mph. M3P is mid 11s around 115mph at best

Dragy times for Plaid and LR

I am consistent 0-60 in 2.20-2.25 (without 1ft roll out) in my Plaid on both street and track. Stock 21” PS4S tires

Dragy times for Plaid and LR

How much weight reduction do you have?
  11. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

The 1 foot rollout is industry standard though so I don’t think they’d do it for one and not the other Who knows though Honestly 0-60 is about the most insignificant performance measure since traction is the BIG factor for most cars. 1/8, 1/4, and 60-130 is where it’s at to accurately...

Tips on drag racing your Model S Plaid...on the track.

X Plaid should hit 9.7 with 85% or higher charge and a good track prep. Trap should be 145mph
  14. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

He’s got the currently quickest Plaid in the world right now 😉 Tesla’s 0-60 claims are with the 1ft rollout, so technically the 3.3 actual 0-60 is just about right as that basically puts it at the 3.1 considering the rollout Still, the LR is a much quicker car than that and would be atleast...
  15. SBDPlaid

Dragy times for Plaid and LR

100%. Tesla totally handicapped the LR off the line. It’s a much quicker car than the 0-60 would suggest. It’s quicker than the outgoing Performance model and yet 0-60 is almost a second slower. It would run low 10s instead of high 10s if Tesla gave it the proper launch with just a software update

Refresh Model S Tint / PPF / Ceramic Photos & Info

The roof is very dark; I have 15% on my side windows, and when in the car, it’s obvious that the roof is much darker
  17. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

Most day to day street races are going to occur from a roll, so 60-130 time is the most representative measure to look at it. From what I’ve seen, the LR is the quickest sedan on the market, of course not counting the Plaid. Anyways, M5 is priced to compete with the Plaid not the LR, so fact...

    3D printed lowering links

I would just get the Blox. I have them and they’re easy enough to work with. Added 7.5mm front and 9mm rear compared to the stock links to get this drop, which is in Low mode

Older 21" rims on new (2022) Model S do fit.

“Fit” as in bolts on—yes, however they’re not as wide and not meant for the refresh suspension and handling geometry

Has anyone installed an aftermarket ROUND WHEEL to replace the on a Model S refresh?

2022 MS Refresh - “howling” echo sound at cruising speed

The ANR is terrible and makes more noise than helping, and the fact that I keep turning it off only for it to activate itself continually makes it even worse

DIY PPF on 2022 Blue Model S

Project turned out amazing—congrats on the results of your hard work well spent! Gtechniq is one of the best brands for coatings, so you can’t go wrong with Halo on PPF or vinyl. Other good option for PPF is Xpel’s coating

Tips on drag racing your Model S Plaid...on the track.

What was your best ET and trap speed? What SOC were you at?
  26. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

Ya the rollout will take more time off the LR than the Plaid
  27. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

It’s with the 1ft rollout, which typically equates to 0.2 less. Tesla uses this for the Performance models but not the others like the LR. So the LR with that 1ft rollout factored in should be under 3 seconds Like with the Plaid, the 1.99 is considering the 1ft rollout; actual 0-60 is about...
  28. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

THIS! Only way a P100D or Raven Performance is pulling the LR is from a dig. Tesla is neutering the LR off the launch on purpose, but other than that, LR is quicker
  29. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

Yes that’s a huge difference for sure
  30. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

Yes because of the launch; LRs I’ve seen are doing 10.8 at best but trapping almost 130, and 60-130 is 1.5 seconds faster than the Raven—that’s a huge difference A roll race from 20 would be interesting and I’m sure the LR would gap the Raven quite a bit by 100 If you still have both care to set...
  31. SBDPlaid

Performance of Refreshed MSLR vs. others

Yes 0-60, but the LR is quicker 60-130 and has a higher trap speed in the 1/4 mile. Tesla is purposely holding back the LR on the launch because once it gets going it’s a quicker car all around. Also, it’s going to hold its performance better as the SOC goes down and take repeated runs much...

Only the dark colored crap; it’s apparently racist
  35. SBDPlaid

Model S Plaid: Paint chipping on Rear quarter panel and doors

Cute And the same can be said for basing your vast knowledge on a detailers “experience” which is nothing but subjective. Definitely go off that and don’t even worry about PPF or anything because you’re golden. Like I said, my actual PPF is chipping in that area so the color of the paint doesn’t...
  36. SBDPlaid

Model S Plaid: Paint chipping on Rear quarter panel and doors

That’s true, but the pearl white is not like a metallic where it’s in the one paint layer; it’s just a regular white with an extra pearlescent layer over top it. I painted a small area on my pearl white Tesla that was damaged and the white paint is typical water based crap. The pearlescent layer...
  37. SBDPlaid

Model S Plaid: Paint chipping on Rear quarter panel and doors

It’s all the same CA compliant crappy water based paint; the tricoat white pearl has an extra paint layer so it may not chip all the way through as easy, but it’s still going to chip. It’s not any “harder” though. I’ve personally owned a Tesla in the pearl white and had the same issues I’ve had...

Model S Plaid: Paint chipping on Rear quarter panel and doors

I’d bet there are some under your full coverage PPF from prior then. Like I said, I have chips in my PPF which is much more durable than any painted surface It’s just going to happen with this car, then it’s a matter of having full coverage PPF that takes the brunt of the damage and can be...

Dragy times for Plaid and LR

Are you using cheetuh stance? MPH is really good, so I’d expect you’d be 9.2x with the 151 trap speed. Your 60 ft at 1.6 is slow, so you’re losing time at the launch. Did you spin a lot? My best is [email protected], and my 60 ft was 1.45 to give you an idea
  41. SBDPlaid

Model S Plaid: Paint chipping on Rear quarter panel and doors

Are you sure it’s not just that it doesn’t show as much on white? All Tesla paint is the same water based crap that’s required in CA

Model S Plaid: Paint chipping on Rear quarter panel and doors

Had white on a previous Tesla (same pearl white that’s on the Plaid/LR) and it chipped just as easy. You may not get as much with the 19’s, but it’ll still happen for sure
