    Supercharger - Kemptville Ontario

I recall him posting pics of his S charging at various superchargers in eastern Canada. Same blue car as in his profile pic for a long time, so I don't think that's correct.

    Supercharger - West Lebanon NH

New equipment pad with different layout, new supercharger cabinets, new conduit** (V3 uses a larger size) between cabinets and stalls, new wiring, new pedestals, and possibly a new utility transformer. It's basically tear everything out and redo the whole site, which is why Tesla never**** does...

Supercharger - Katy, TX - Katy Freeway

The VW settlement included two separate pots of money. First was that VW had to invest $2B Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) charging infrastructure and in the promotion of ZEVs, they did this through the creation of Electrify America. Then, separate from that, VW also was required to give $3B to a...

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

Plus they've already partnered with Tesla on 3 other sizable charging plaza locations, the Marengo Garage, the Arroyo parkway lot, and the location on S. Lake that is just starting to be built.

Supercharger - Hope, BC - Klassen Road

No, there are plenty of sites with an odd number of stalls. If you want to see some, go to the Data page on supercharge.info, use the drop downs at the top of the page to show whatever region/country you're interested in, and sort the list by number of stalls. You'll see that the vast...

Wiki Largest gaps between Superchargers on US Interstates

I'm guessing one of those wasn't supposed to be Shreveport.

    Supercharger - Pompton Lakes, NJ

LOL!!! Huge pre-construction delays due to Tesla being bad with paperwork happen so regularly it sometimes seems to almost be the norm. The problem is that they are working on too many locations for the size of their teams. Things like 1 or 2+ month waits between plans resubmittals to address...

    Supercharger - Beaver, UT

Yeah, they often add new V3 stalls at an existing V2 site. They've done that in dozens and dozens of locations. My point was that they don't remove the old V2 equipment and replace it with new V3 equipment at the same site. They only add more stalls or build a whole new site nearby.

    Supercharger - Rocky Hill, CT

There's some issue with posting from phones that causes double posts sometimes. Whenever I see them I just assume that's the problem.

    Supercharger - Beaver, UT

Kettleman is also one of the few supercharger locations that Tesla owns outright. I only listed Fremont and the design studio in my original comment as examples but could just as easily have changed one of them to Kettleman City without altering the statement at all.

Charging at Tesla at a Rivian charging station

I don't have any first-hand knowledge of whether they have or not, but Rivian's own information about their planned network/stations say that they plan to exclude all non-Rivian vehicles from using their DCFC stations but will let any make use their L2 EVSE stations. From their Charging page:
  14. mociaf9

Charging at Tesla at a Rivian charging station

Important caveat: This is only true at Rivian L2 stations (like the one Parakeet83 used). Rivian's DCFC stations are for Rivians only. Even though they use a CCS connector, CCS capable cars from other makes can't use them.
  15. mociaf9

    Supercharger - Beaver, UT

Tesla never** does that. **Besides their initial testing deployments of V3 equipment at fully Tesla owned properties (e.g. the Fremont factory and LA design studio), there's only 1 other site where they removed the old V2 equipment and then rebuilt the site with V3 (New York JFK, NY).

Best Level 2 Home Charging Method

There shouldn't be any noticeable difference between any of the outlined charging methods in regards to battery degradation or battery health. So, the only time I can see this being anything more than simple preference of the user is if this is happening in cold weather. For cold weather...

    Destination Chargers at Supercharger Sites

It certainly doesn't do so currently. Though I have no first hand knowledge on this matter, I think without too much coding difficulty it could be possible to add a Yes/No field like those for Solar Canopy and Battery Storage which would indicate whether a supercharger has co-located...

    CCS Adapter for North America

Wow, not sure how I missed that as I specifically remember checking to make sure they were both using charge time as the x-axis. Only thing I can think of is that when I checked the second graph, I did so by looking in the quoted section that is automatically populated when replying to a...

    CCS Adapter for North America

Those graphs can't possibly be accurate and should definitely be ignored. On the Power vs Time graph, the V3 supercharger and the EA station performance are basically identical for the first 4+ minutes while the power is ramping up. Then the V3 power is significantly above the EA power for the...

Supercharger - Laguna Seca Raceway, CA (LIVE Sep 2022, 8 V3 stalls, possibly restricted access)

There's more to it than that, but the prefab units definitely cut down the install time.
  23. mociaf9

    Supercharger - San Francisco, CA - 16th St (LIVE 7 Jul 2023, 12 stalls)

Yeah, the switch to V3 pretty much doomed the urban supercharger type. The real impetus for the urban locations was that they didn't have the dynamic power sharing that the traditional V2 stalls did. But V3 solved that problem with a different approach, one that is much better than limiting...

    Supercharger - Dublin, CA - Dublin Boulevard (LIVE 29 Oct 2021, 10 V2 stalls)

Tesla still builds V2 locations overseas on occasion. For North America, we have to see what happens in Olema, CA. That one was originally permitted for V2 and has taken a few years to get approvals from jurisdictions where it's not clear they'd allow a simple swap of the originally planned V2...

    Supercharger - Pasadena, CA - East Glenarm Street (LIVE 21 Oct 2021, 20 V3, 7 DCFC, 20 L2)

Sure, it's open to everyone, but it's also important to be a considerate person and have a sense of proportion and reasonableness that compares your technical entitlement to the benefits of using that particular charger with the situational need of others and the costs your delaying them incurs...

Supercharger - Madras, OR (LIVE Jul 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

Tesla is fully committed to their own product ecosystem. Superchargers that are active are shown in the car's navigation system and that's how they expect Tesla owners to find them. Conversely, not yet activated sites are not on the car's navigation and Tesla considers that sufficient...

    Supercharger - Northridge, CA (LIVE 23 Nov 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

Those precast concrete elements lined up behind the guy in pic #2 are the bases for supercharger posts and are a unique Tesla item for supercharger construction. So, even without the cabinets, that's enough to totally confirm the construction.

    Hertz Employees Using All Superchargers

They absolutely can in many/most cases. But the process will be quite a bit more involved if their lot is on airport property, where getting approvals for such improvements isn't just a matter of Hertz corporate having their ducks in order.

    Hertz Employees Using All Superchargers

Womp, womp. Your ridiculous jihad against the TPC is total BS in this context (as in many others). Tesla sells/installs private superchargers for commercial entities that have a need for them for their fleet operations. If Hertz needs fast charging on their lot, they can have private...

    Tesla Charging in NYC

So, a bit of confusion here. At that Atlantic Center there are both (urban) 72kW superchargers AND destination chargers. So, it's easy to think you're looking at the info for one and are actually seeing the info for the other. @GrandWazoo you should go back and try using the superchargers and...

    Tesla Charging in NYC

For charging, Level 1 (L1) is plugging into a 120 volt wall outlet. What you used is Level 2 (L2) equipment, AC electricity delivery at 208 or 240 volts. That specific type of L2 hardware, called a Tesla Wall Connector, is Tesla's version of what people might install at home for overnight...

    Electrify America general discussion

In a study of DCFC performance, it's going to be very difficult to control for variable charge rates caused by the car instead of the charging equipment unless they are using some 3rd party app/tech that reads the vehicle side information from the OBD2 port, like Scan My Tesla. They'd need to...

  37. mociaf9

    Supercharger - Coos Bay, OR (LIVE 25 Oct 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

It's part of Tesla's policy of majorly, majorly understaffing communications and customer service personnel. Same reason why you can't get ahold of anyone if you try to call a Tesla service center or store and why it's so hard to have steady contact/communications with delivery teams, etc...

    Setec CCS to Tesla Adapter

The warning isn't for the rando passerby, it's telling the driver not to create a hazard, i.e. use different charging equipment so that you don't create this hazardous situation in which someone might get hurt and then sue you.
  39. mociaf9

    Supercharger - Tyngsborough, MA

I'd love for them to put covers over the parking signs until the site is ready to use. Would serve multiple purposes in that locations with long waits for energizing and activation wouldn't be needlessly limiting parking opportunities, they wouldn't be training people to ignore the signs and...

    Setec CCS to Tesla Adapter

Now that the official Tesla CCS adapter is available in the US, that battle is entering its final stages. No possible way for Setec to remain relevant even in the middle term as the Tesla hardware is significantly superior in every way: cheaper, allows faster charging, properly locks so is...

    Supercharger - Sechelt, BC

That would be a really unusual excavation for a supercharger site. Maybe it's necessary at this location for some reason I can't fathom? But at this point, I am (and will remain) dubious that this is for the chargers.

    Supercharger - North Platte, NE

  43. mociaf9

Supercharger - Scottsdale, AZ - E Shea Blvd

Nope, not vandalism, just the installation crew doing things in a way that will save them some time & effort. When they know that they'll have to get back into the posts again to continue work, for inspections, or for testing they often don't fully close them up. So you'll occasionally see...

DCFC - Orlando, FL - W Robinson St

Snarky answer: Well, I suppose that depends on your definition of "costly". :) Non-snarky answer: No, the only way to charge a Tesla here will be with either the CHAdeMO or the CCS adapter, either of which will set you back over $300.
