Time for a new HV Battery

Here’s mine the last time I supercharged. Big improvement over my prior pack. Seems like it can stay ~120 kWh up to about 20%, and above 100 kWh through 50%. These images were taken 13 minutes apart. I think my prior pack would drop to 80kwh after 20% and maybe to like 50-60kwh around 50%.

Time for a new HV Battery

Awesome. This is pretty much what happened with me as well. Mines not 290 miles though - it was while in service, but was reduced to ~275 after service was complete, so my guess is that this was before it was locked back down to 85 kWh. The biggest benefit is that I am now seeing efficiency...

Time for a new HV Battery

Sorry, just realized a typo, and I cannot edit my original post. This is supposed to say I CAN unlock it afterwards if I want through requesting it under upgrades. However, I do not see any options when I check for software upgrades. At this point I have not paid extra to unlock it. As...

Time for a new HV Battery

The 2nd estimate (where the cost went up) I received had that part number, but then it changed after they goodwilled the price down. I also checked that part number and could not find it, so that’s why I am wondering if that’s the “goodwill article code” that was entered. Here’s a pic.

Time for a new HV Battery

I think the “articles” are internal Tesla employee policies, but my invoice reads “ASY-HV BATTERY,SX- SW LIM 85(1918190-85- A),” despite the installation of the pack number listed above. No idea if that number will be helpful. Unfortunately I don’t recall the exact number of the error message...

Time for a new HV Battery

I just paid for a replacement on my 2013 P85 as well. Based on what I was told, I have a new 90 kwh battery (1014116-00-C). From the start, it was unclear what battery I would get as it would be based on availability. I was never given the option of new VS reman, but it looks like I lucked out...

2012 P85 HV battery replacement options -- need perspective.

Did Tesla ever respond to you regarding the expected charging speeds and performance after a new battery install? Did they give you any estimates on the differences between remanufactured and a new one? What happens to your old battery? I wonder of it has any value?

    500 mile road trip

100% agree with this. Although I don’t have experience with a newer model, I do have a 2013 P85 like you with 106k miles on it. I also just went on a 1000 mile road trip (500 miles each way). I think the key (as other posts on this forum have mentioned) is to try to plan your supercharger stops...

Original owners of 2012/2013 Model S w/ 85 kWh pack: Has your main pack been replaced?

What kind of issues were you having that required a replacement?

Original owners of 2012/2013 Model S w/ 85 kWh pack: Has your main pack been replaced?

After my DU was replaced under warranty, I did ask out of curiosity how much the cost would’ve been if it were not. I believe the number they quoted me was around $6000.

Original owners of 2012/2013 Model S w/ 85 kWh pack: Has your main pack been replaced?

I’m in a similar boat as you, except I have not seriously considered selling yet. As far as I know, I have the original battery (D pack), however I suppose it’s possible that it has been changed once by the previous owner. I have a 2013 P85, purchased 2.5 years ago with 58k, now just over 100k...

    4 - Gen 2 TPMS

Yes, they have been used. Unsure of how old.. I got them on a set of wheels and tires that I bought from another TMC member, but needed to switch the TPMS.

    What's your 90%?

Occasionally, but most of the time no, especially when I am alone in the car and don't really need it. If the wife and/or baby is in the car, then yes - but that's usually for about 10 minutes/day of my 1 hr round trip commute. Realistically, how much would that increase it, say from like 340 to...

    What's your 90%?

Just got my ‘13 P85 a few weeks ago! With around 59k miles, mine has 228 rated miles at 90%. I suppose this is about 4-5% degradation, which seems to be within range .... ? Now I just need to figure out how to get anywhere close to that.. I seem to always average 370-390 wh/mi, much higher than...
