When I originally ordered/configured my M3, the $2,000 NYS tax credit automatically was deducted at that time. When I go to my account page and look at "Payment Method" the $2k is listed as "EV Incentives". I will be picking up at Mt. Kisco.

The trade-in value is deducted from the purchase price of the new vehicle, so it will lower the sales tax owed on the new car purchase. EDIT: Not sure if this is state specific. So you may want to double check if it applies in CA.
