Will Mercedes jump to level 3 before Tesla? Looks like it.

Sounds like you need to be Rose Mary Woods to see the brake lights. A larger image or indicator light would be nice.

Latest fsd beta issue, trying to take over when I’m driving.

I was driving with FSDbeta engaged on a 1 lane road which divided into 3 lanes as it approached a busy 3 way intersection with a light. There were right and left turn lanes and a center lane with large arrows to turn in either direction. The single lane was continuous with the middle lane. I was...

NHTSA Close to forcing recall of FSD after more crashes

Agreed. The Tesla website should list the option as SAE level 2 "Driver Support Systems” and a link to the SAE website. Under the option, Tesla can also list the capabilities of the driver support.

10.12.2 Eye Tracking Shut Me Down

Between the wheel nag and eye tracking, when there is finally updated FSD wide release, there wil not too many people who will be able to retain it.

The catastrophe of FSD and erosion of trust in Tesla

Or even when the driver may think "something smells funny" alerting them that there may be a problem. Don't underestimate how all the senses contribute to the driving process. Vision only would be an unfortunate handicap.

The catastrophe of FSD and erosion of trust in Tesla

Humans have 5 amazing senses that are all used, although at different degrees depending on the situation. Certainly, in fortunate humans, vision, hearing and tactile senses are being constantly employed simultaneously when driving.

How to make Cruise control "stupid"

TACC is a Beta feature. Perhaps, there will be more options when it is finished.

The catastrophe of FSD and erosion of trust in Tesla

Begs the question, what would the accident rate be if all vehicles had mandatory driver supervision features, including steering wheel nags and attention cameras?

The catastrophe of FSD and erosion of trust in Tesla

From the manual: "Traffic-Aware Cruise Control is primarily intended for driving on dry, straight roads, such as highways."

    Best Financing for FSD Post-Purchase

The calculation that if one keeps the car for a long time and sells the vehicle that you may recoup the value in resale or is a good investment is wishful thinking. Tesla only states: "As these self-driving features evolve, your car will be continuously upgraded through over-the-air software...

Humans have 5 senses including 2 high definition stereoscopic cameras with peripheral vision and exquisite real intelligent analysis, directional audio detection and tactile sensing.

What does your timeline look like for driverless vehicles?

The timeline for Tesla driverless vehicles is when the multiple warnings in the manual that contain red triangles and this comment is removed: "Remain alert at all times and be prepared to take immediate action. Failure to do so can cause damage, injury or death." 2040?

Is Tesla still giving out the FSD beta to qualified drivers?

Giving out? You paid 12k for FSD! Call and complain. You should be able to get. Although, I don't hardly use it. More stressful than driving manually and have to disengage frequently. My passenger also tells me to turn it off.

    Reverse Summon

I wonder if the use of Reverse Summon will come with the caveat that it is "intended for use with a fully attentive driver, who has their hands on the wheel and is prepared to take over at any moment."

    Phantom Braking

I have experienced several episodes of phantom braking. As well, in general, there is way too much hard braking. There is no way that FSD beta would obtain the safety scores that drivers needed to get the FSD software download. I rarely use the friction brakes. I can usually glide to a stop with...

    Can't add phone as key

Happened to me after latest update. Spoke with a Tesla tech, told to reset Network Connections on Android phone. From tech: "Sometimes after a update the vehicle and phone are not on the same page so to speak. Here is a web site if you are unsure on how to do it." How to reset your network...

Tesla FSD Beta Release 10.5 2021.36.8.7

When I drive manually, I get a pleasant satisfaction and challenge to use regen braking primarily and friction brakes only if absolutely necessary. In fact, when I do use friction brakes, I am annoyed. Aim is to never have to replace the brake pads. FSD uses friction brakes often, very...

    Taptes new wireless charging pad

I am not sure how you confirmed fast charging. My USB meter showed a maximum of approximately 9V 1A draw, total 9W with Samsung7+. The wireless pad will output less. More power than using the USB port but less than directly plugging the phone in.
