P3D's suspension may be 0.4" lower, but doesn't handle meaningfully better, IMO. Having driven a P3D and owned/driven many bimmers, Tesla M3 models just are not built that way. I think coilovers from MPP/UP are the best way to go, irrespective of M3 models. My 2 cents.

For those of us who bought from earlier production, Stealth/P3D- was not available -- and we paid a lot more for our LR AWD. :)

This makes logical sense. It's the P3D- vs AWD crowd I don't understand.

On reddit, people were complaining about P3D- is only $2k more for a much better performance. The issue here isn't choosing between a LR AWD and P3D-. If one already owns a LR AWD, especially from earlier production, there are no other reasonable options. I thought about selling my LR AWD to get...

Were you not able to find a P3D-, or unicorn, without the wheel/brake package? That's the one I would get -- my AWD LR cost a lot more than it. haha

To be fair, a lot of people don't know how to spell brake -- and, don't know "alot" is not a word, "comprised of" is incorrect, "in regards" is incorrect, etc. :)

Glad you went with it. It's an easy decision at $2k extra. I have a 12/2018 LR AWD and paid a lot more for it.

Yup...many, if not most, people don't know how to use side-mirrors. Most people I know set their side-mirrors to see the rear sides of their car.

Installed the new wheels and shoes. VS Forged VS10, 19x9. Wearing Michelin AS3+ 245/40. Wheel weighs ~20.3 lbs.

That's the combination I'm going after, I think. My VS Forged, VS10 19x9, is shipping today. Will do 245/40-19 AS3+.

Not that I had any loyalty to Tesla in the first place, but certainly now won't develop any for sure. It's a sunk cost to me.

So, had I waited a couple of months, the net price reduction for my AWD would be $2,250 -- basically a new set of nice wheels. Sigh... This is what happens when you have a dysfunctional company.

I'm just astounded that Teslas has yet to address this issue. This is just another data-point to my view of Tesla's operational ineptitude.

I'm quite excited about Rivian -- its visual designs are much more to my liking than that of Model X. And, my hunch is that it will have comparatively fewer operational issues than Tesla. Elon may be a visionary, but I don't think he has the temperament to be a good operator/manager. Too many...

I had read that 235/45-118 tires on OEM 18" wheels are slightly stretched. Thus, 245/40-19 should be just right on 19x8.5 VS Forged, but I don't it for sure.

Have had this issue with my PH1 since Day 1 of the TM3 ownership. Phone works on everything except calls. The only consistent method that works is when I make a call, I choose "Speaker" on my phone, once the dialogue begins, I adjust the volume on the steeringwheel, then transfer the call back...

Yeah...that's why I went with Sottozeros. Even though Nokian Hakka R3, or the Michelin X-Ice, would do better in snow, I wanted tires that would do well in wet and dry during the winter here. Hopeful the combination of Sottozeros and TM3's AWD will be more than sufficient in snow. I hit the ski...
