Sell my 2018 to buy 2020? Am I crazy?

P3D's suspension may be 0.4" lower, but doesn't handle meaningfully better, IMO. Having driven a P3D and owned/driven many bimmers, Tesla M3 models just are not built that way. I think coilovers from MPP/UP are the best way to go, irrespective of M3 models. My 2 cents.

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

For those of us who bought from earlier production, Stealth/P3D- was not available -- and we paid a lot more for our LR AWD. :)
  3. justaute

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

Not sure why this is difficult. 1. If you want the extra 0.5 seconds AND have an earlier production of LR AWD AND are willing to pay, then buy it. 2. If you do or do not want the extra 0.5 seconds AND have an earlier production of LR AWD and are not willing to pay for it, then do not buy it. 3...

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

This makes logical sense. It's the P3D- vs AWD crowd I don't understand.

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

On reddit, people were complaining about P3D- is only $2k more for a much better performance. The issue here isn't choosing between a LR AWD and P3D-. If one already owns a LR AWD, especially from earlier production, there are no other reasonable options. I thought about selling my LR AWD to get...

Concerns about limited tire choices for M3 Performace

Were you not able to find a P3D-, or unicorn, without the wheel/brake package? That's the one I would get -- my AWD LR cost a lot more than it. haha

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

To be fair, a lot of people don't know how to spell brake -- and, don't know "alot" is not a word, "comprised of" is incorrect, "in regards" is incorrect, etc. :)

    Will I regret not getting a P3D-?

Glad you went with it. It's an easy decision at $2k extra. I have a 12/2018 LR AWD and paid a lot more for it.

Solicitation for Opinions on Tesla Service and Recent Pricing Changes

Yup. Plus, traditional ICE/dealer-based sales model is not the same in that it does not sell based on fixed, listed prices. When I bought my bimmer for ED delivery, I did copious research and came up with a price, which I then took it to several BMW dealers. No one argues, or should argue, that...

Rivian’s Early Offerings Include 7-Seater SUV

Don't disagree. I've been an ops guy in the investment world for quite some time. Innovative ideas are great, but they need execution, however mundane they may seem. And, for a corporation to have certain longevity, you need good people. I have no idea whether the throngs of people who left...

Standard Range Model 3 Now Available for $35,000

Nice. Now you want to make it personal. Ok. Just look at the personnel changes in recent Tesla history, including the most recent general counsel who was there merely weeks. Musk is also known for his capricious, volatile leadership traits. If you want to be a Tesla fanboy, that's your...

Standard Range Model 3 Now Available for $35,000

Really? That's such a mind-bending observation. Not sure anyone is talking about 5 years here. It's 2 months, for a purportedly premium product. There's really no point in debating here. Such is life.
  31. justaute

Standard Range Model 3 Now Available for $35,000

Tesla sure can. I am also allowed to form an opinion. Tesla has a different sales model, so I don't think it's apples-to-apples comparison. YMMV
  32. justaute

Standard Range Model 3 Now Available for $35,000

Not that I had any loyalty to Tesla in the first place, but certainly now won't develop any for sure. It's a sunk cost to me.

Standard Range Model 3 Now Available for $35,000

So, had I waited a couple of months, the net price reduction for my AWD would be $2,250 -- basically a new set of nice wheels. Sigh... This is what happens when you have a dysfunctional company.

Rivian’s Early Offerings Include 7-Seater SUV

I'm quite excited about Rivian -- its visual designs are much more to my liking than that of Model X. And, my hunch is that it will have comparatively fewer operational issues than Tesla. Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I had read that 235/45-118 tires on OEM 18" wheels are slightly stretched. Thus, 245/40-19 should be just right on 19x8.5 VS Forged, but I don't it for sure.

Have had this issue with my PH1 since Day 1 of the TM3 ownership. Phone works on everything except calls. Vendor Affordable Monoblock Forged! VS Forged Wheels

Yeah...that's why I went with Sottozeros. Even though Nokian Hakka R3, or the Michelin X-Ice, would do better in snow, I wanted tires that would do well in wet and dry during the winter here. Hopeful the combination of Sottozeros and TM3's AWD will be more than sufficient in snow. I hit the ski...
