Brought 2018 model 3 to Seoul. works minus slacker, lte, and navigation

Not getting unlimited supercharging and data in korea is the way forward. Thanks for rubbing it in that you still have it lol!

Rephrase your question. Displayed maps? Fsd is not a thing here. It will never be. But I don't have fsd anyway.

You can get a new sim card and put it in the car I think. Ask the service center in korea. You need to be fluent. But then that's just for data in the car and there's almost no point since you can just use unlimited data on your phone and stream content thru that and use a better map on that...

Bringing a car outside homologation area breaches warranty thus you don't get those benefits. I tried, no dice. I tried repeatedly. Still the car is great and if you do need repairs they are far far far cheaper in SK than the US.

No problem. So the free 4 life supercharging I wouldn't know about. Call tesla support in korea. They actually answer.

1] yes. It's possible but they don't do it often. You really need to speak Korean for this level of service interaction. Essentially if you buy an SK Sim card with an unlimited data sharing plan and activate it w/SK (provide the imei#) it will be an active Sim that you can give to your service...

Not sure where I said that. Tesla service centers in korea are phenomenal. They charge far less for normal service and wear and tear stuff. Eg., I just replaced my 12v battery since it was like 3.5 years old. Everything including some other checkups was less than 100 bucks. I had a filter change...

It should go without saying that supercharging works so long as you change your credit card and phone number online to be your korean credit card and phone number. Destination charging using the regular tesla chargeport(sort of like 완속 40km/hr)is often free and unrestricted at malls etc. Unlike...

for both the front and back plates i am using my american stick-on bracket. then i screw in the korean GUARD that you get at your gu-cheong when you register the car. that is what directly holds your plate. as luck would have it, it has *good enough* screw hold placement to fit on the upper...

Brought 2018 model 3 to Seoul. works minus slacker, lte, and navigation

Nothing else. Car is better than anything else save for the y. I wouldn't be without this car anywhere. Aside: Koreans don't even use the tesla map. They use tmap or kakao on their phones. Tesla map is useless since it conveys no info about traffic cams etc. Additionally? If u wanna use your...

This sort of thing makes little sense (to me at least... like why would they do it like that?) and is nearly impossible to communicate from English speakers (tesla corporate) to korean speakers (tesla korea) back to English speakers (me).

What's infuriating is that the map and GPS works and even can update without lte. Even without wifi somehow.... I can be in goyang and have a map that is accurate despite having no connections. you can even look up locations and call them etc. BUT YOU CANT NAVIGATE TO THEM. thinking of...

Justified? Can you sell in the states and not get lowballed by the trolls on this forum? Do you have some Korean movers you trust? Do you speak Korean? Are you OK with not having a Tesla for at least a year? Are you OK with paying a kimchi premium on a new tesla? What about if you wanna move...

    Charging Station Apps/Maps in Korea

Kakaomap. Search 전기차충전 and use the filter. That and plugshare work well.

Blue. I would have taken a loss selling stateside and not had a tesla for at least a year had I not brought mine and ate the import taxes. I really thought hard about this one. At any rate if you don't speak Korean you'll have fun insuring and registering.

Brought 2018 model 3 to Seoul. works minus slacker, lte, and navigation

Registration was a nightmare and normally I'm pretty good at dealing with bureaucracy. There's no English language help. I must be the only non military American who brought their m3 here...

Ask me anything? Map only works with wifi. LTE doesnt work. You cannot navigate. Fine details are missing. Slacker doesn't load stations. Haven't tested tidal. Customs and insurance are absolutely harrowing for non military.

Los Angeles County, CA - Model 3 LR AWD EAP, low mileage (24,900), Late December 2018 (essentially early 2019)

All your off-topic "funny" reactions are truly appreciated; I'm so glad you found the time to click that and let me know what you think. What a wonderful, friendly community we have here. I had an offer of nearly $50k from an Autonation dealer, so that would be a no, thanks for your your honest...

Don't bring your car to oversea from the US, my car is dead

Which things don't work, specifically? AFAIK, maps and GPS + LTE stuff. But I've also heard SIM swaps could be done. Not entirely sure. That's what I plan on doing if I move my 3. Additionally, your car is an older model - was the drive unit and battery warranty for "8 years or 150,000 miles...

Will a Tesla bought in South Korea work in US?

This is a great question and I may be in a similar situation several years from now, so am hoping someone could shed some light on this as well.

Los Angeles County, CA - Model 3 LR AWD EAP, low mileage (24,900), Late December 2018 (essentially early 2019)

Located in Los Angeles. Sale must be done locally in the area and we can discuss further details on the logistics later. I'm in a situation where I've just paid off this car and want to sell it right away to facilitate an easier move abroad. I'm awaiting the title from the DMV. If the sale...

Price Drop of $2k on M3P+

I was told I wouldn't be able to do the rate match guarantee if I didn't take delivery by the 31st. So that was my reason for wanting to take delivery before the 31st.... not the tax credit which doesn't apply to me. Also I think now they extended the guarantee, so I really feel duped. If I...
