    Model 3 stinks ....

I have a AWD LR 3 and love it. But I love my 911 Turbo way more than the 3. Tesla has not ruined anything for me, the Porsche had done that already, ruining my "any other car" experience for me. Well, not true as well ;))) I rent a lot of cars and enjoy many of them (Fiat 500, love it, Camaro...

Do you really need tire rotation?

IMHO opinion, there's no need to rotate wheels. If you rotate, what you will achieve is that tires will wear more equally across front and rear. Let's say that, instead of replacing the two rear tires at 20k km and then the fronts at 40k km, you'll end up replacing all 4 tires at the same time...

And with 16.3.2, NoA in Portugal. It’s coming to the EU it seems.

    Tesla Software 2019.16.3

Got 16.3.2 couple of days ago, had Advanced software update on. In accordance with Teslafi, I got it early, only 7% of the fleet had it at that point. And it got me NoA. I’m in Portugal.

How was your model 3 quality when you took delivery?

Exterior paint excellent except for excessive orange peel on the front bumper, have to take care of that myself when I have the time. Panel gaps actually fine as well, but chrome door trim alignment is bad though. That's where you see this is no euro made Volkswagen (best build in the industry).

RENA and COUS option codes in a EU car

Here's the API response in full. Other than the codes, the rest of the parameters are correct. I deidentified everything, including coordinates...

RENA and COUS option codes in a EU car

From querying the API directly for my car. The API response includes the correct VIN, and the correct nickname I gave the car so it is really my car

RENA and COUS option codes in a EU car

My car is a 240XXX VIN, multicoat red, dual motor. Received it new on April 09 in Portugal. Suspect build date would be late Feb or early March. When I query it through the API, it returns a rather strange combination of contradictory option codes that, in accordance with Tim Dorr's website...

    Tesla Software 2019.16.2

With 16.2, does anybody get very nervous/jumpy/agitated neighbouring cars in the animation? In mine, it's getting ridiculous: when I'm stopped in a light, if I were to believe the car, there would be cars doing 180s in the middle of the traffic lanes and hitting mine. Ah, and they're...

    Home delivery with trade in

I did this as well but in Portugal. Might be very different to your case in the US. The tradein was dealt with fully online. I filled in a web inquiry, put in all the data, uploaded a copy of the title and that was it. A day later the €€€ proposal came in and I accepted it, out of lazyness of...

Top Gear Magazine: Model 3 Performance is faster around a track than the BMW M3!

I know (knew) of quite a few bikers that eventually died of old age or various diseases without that wreck ever coming their way. That is certainly not a given. Several close encounters with the tarmac or dirt, yes. In my ~30 years of biking I've had a few. Most of them stopped or almost...

Top Gear Magazine: Model 3 Performance is faster around a track than the BMW M3!

Sure, I'm fortunate to have a 911 (996) Turbo so that's what I end up comparing it with, which might be unfair, I know. Still, the Tesla handles very, very well, but in comparison to nimble, light, sports cars, it's no match. I'm sure, in the future, ICE will lose comparisons in all respects...

Top Gear Magazine: Model 3 Performance is faster around a track than the BMW M3!

See your point but I think that it also depends on the area you drive around in. Europe is, for the most part, very different from the US in what regards road/street configuration. In my country/my area, outside highways, 90% are twisties, so the fun here is not at all "drag" racing between...

Tesla Wall Connector load sharing protocol

@CDragon, just got all the hardware to go for this project. I just want to thank you in advance for all your amazing and hard work. I think it's fair to say that you are actually contributing to a greener future, helping Tesla/solar system owners reduce reliance on fossil fuel as well as helping...

Top Gear Magazine: Model 3 Performance is faster around a track than the BMW M3!

Completely true as to old cars. One the funnest cars I ever drove was a Morris Mini 1000cc (1970ish). At 80km/h around the twisties gives you a smile that will last for hours. It's such a fun car, so low, so small and light and has a square planform. In my country, we have classic car racing...

Top Gear Magazine: Model 3 Performance is faster around a track than the BMW M3!

Dunno. I read somewhere (electrek?) it would have a 200kWh battery. Wikipedia does say that, BTW, but I don't know if that is coming from Tesla or is just an assumption. If technology is the same as the current batteries, then it's a 2000lbs battery. That's a lot of weight. If that's the case...

    Model 3 software super-thread

I read a Dutch guy reporting he had NOA in Holland, but crossing the border to France, it disappeared, so it would appear it is really location related. They possibly have already validated Holland's highways and their lane marking system. It changes from country to country. When you have a...

Top Gear Magazine: Model 3 Performance is faster around a track than the BMW M3!

Well, a win is a win, but it has a caveat, how relevant/important is that caveat is up to the consumer. My view is that currently, no EV matches the better tuned petrol car for pleasurability yet (yes, I test drove the Model S 100 with Ludicrous as well as the P3D). If your thing is clinical...

Top Gear Magazine: Model 3 Performance is faster around a track than the BMW M3!

I have a 911 Turbo (996) and from a couple of weeks ago a Model 3 AWD LR. Love the Tesla, the most fantastic geekmobile ever (I am a self assumed geek 100%). Love to drive the M3 and its instantaneous response, silence, spaceship feeling and all the absurd geekiness of it. Also test drove a P3D...

    Model 3 software super-thread

12.1 and 12.1.1 seems like a US thing. In fact, above 8.5, seems to be that. Interesting. Would it have to do with regulatory issues? In the EU, most anything to do with self driving is not allowed. As I mentioned before, I'm on 8.5 and there's no NOA at all.

    Model 3 software super-thread

And BTW, a question for those with 2019.6.x, 2019.12.x, etc, I read "Additional languages". Can anyone have a look and tell me which languages are those? Me being Portuguese, it annoys me not to have my language; would love to see it coming.

    Model 3 software super-thread

Hi all, Of note, it may interesting to publish the build numbers as well. Europe builds are different to US'. Maybe from other areas as well (Middle East, Asia, Oceania?). In Europe, 2019.8.5 3aaa23d (my M3 AWDLR) does not have NOA and lane change is only manually initiated.

    [EU] Powerwall and 3-phase 400VAC

I got tired of all the waiting and this Summer I got a Fronius Symo Hybrid 5.3 and an LG Resu10H battery. Very good system so far.
