Model 3 Australia - Massive Price Cut

The leaked photos of the refresh coming from Fremont had Aussie vins. At least this batch is Fremont but that might be it. They'll probably move the SR+ to China.

Anybody in Melbourne with a 3 chrome delete?

Hi all, Currently on the verge of ordering a Model 3 but the new standard chrome-delete has thrown a spanner in the works. We loved the Multicoat red with the chrome trim, but after seeing images of chrome-deleted ones in the USA, we're not too sure anymore. Being such a significant purchase...

    New, Plaid, Model S

My guess is that they aren't ready to announce any design changes just yet but there will be a new interior/exterior by the time it comes out.

Model Y for Australia will come from GF Shanghai

Chinese Model 3 is built better than the cars coming out of Fremont. They've already won an award for the highest-quality sedan in Q2 2020 with the least amount of complaints per 1000 cars by customers. Methinks you're holding onto the traditional idea that Chinese goods are low-quality. I dare...

    Y cant I have my Y ?

The first Model 3s were delivered in July 2017. The first Aussie Model 3s were delivered in September 2019. Given that there are no scheduled deliveries for European Model Ys yet, I'd guess we have at least a year before we can even order one here.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I visited the NatGeo website which suggested that you needed a Disney+ membership to view (while using a free USA VPN).

Tesla S 75D import to NZ from UK

Yes, the MCU is the computer that is the big screen in the centre and the smaller screen with the speedo. It is odd that a vehicle built around software can't change to a new region, but I suppose the cars were never designed with that in mind. Doubled with Tesla's policy which means they won't...

Tesla S 75D import to NZ from UK

The 3g/4g card in the car will be for whatever UK company Tesla has a contract with. Not sure if it's easily removable and changeable but if it isn't, you'll have no navigation, Spotify, Netflix etc. You may want to make sure that the plug on the UK Model is the same as the NZ model AND that...

Why can't I buy a model 3 fob in Australia?

On a slightly related note, is it possible to purchase a Model 3/Y Keycard in Australia? (Even if you don't own a Tesla yet) I know that you can buy one off the USA website but I'm wondering if there is an email address for a showroom or service centre that I can contact to see if they have any.

    Trading in with Tesla AU

Tesla has no business selling old ICE cars or any ICE car at all. I assume they just buy it off you and send it to auction places like Manheim, hence the lowball offers. I've read here in the past that Tesla encouraged one person to just sell theirs privately rather than with Tesla.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

SR+ is 37990 USD. Exchanged at the most generous rate is currently 55k AUD. Add 8k for the troubles of shipping it here/building RHD/leeway for exchange rates and we could see the Model 3 at 63k before on-roads. Imagine that!

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Can't tell if you're self-promoting your own store or just a happy customer. Watch out because way you worded it may put you in breach of self-promotion rules on the forums. Disable Mobile Data when getting paint job fixed

Pretty sure it's been in Tesla's policy for a while to disabled third party dashcams and remote access when getting work done at a Service Center or third party shop approved by Tesla. Some choose to uphold it while others don't. I've had a look around the internet and it seems like they only do...

    Caltex Electric Cars Woolworths

Loads of Caltex/Woolworths death stations are now calling themselves this. Even my local Keilor Road one. I've been down there but no signs of charging stations. I'll ask the person working there next time my parents give money to an Arab prince.

    New and Used Prices

Standard range offerings shouldn't be the raven cars. This is why they're cheap and come with free supercharging for life.

    white seats

Unlikely unless Australia becomes a large market. They no longer make the cars specific to your build so they just make a bunch and send them over here. Not worth them sending a bunch of white interiors if they can't confirm that they'll all be sold according to them. Personally, I think there's...

    Supercharger - Moonee Ponds, Vic

No LTE and very humid down there from today's rain but ah well, at least we've got new superchargers. Not my Model S (I bloody wish) but if it's yours, you'll see me on sentry cam.

    Supercharger - Moonee Ponds, Vic

I'd say there's a good chance they want to paint that white wall with the Tesla logo. Just my prediction but given the colourful artwork on the wall of the two HPWC chargers, surely they'll do something for the superchargers.

    New and Used Prices

The 5th photo on this listing isn't even theirs. It's a Model X with the white interior. Threw me off at first when I saw the dark Alcantara roof and then had a closer look at the bottom right of the screen.

    New and Used Prices

I honestly don't think that is a 2018 build. Yes, it says 2018 and if you scroll down it is a May 2018 release date, but there are still a few obvious traits that say it's not 2018. -middle row in 7 seat configuration is the old one. The new configuration, since 2017, is a bench seat that folds...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

The new Leaf ZE1 can regen (ePedal) all the way to a full stop. I was given the chance to drive one at the Electrikhana event and its a pretty strong halt but felt natural after a couple of minutes. Very cool (and fast) car for its size.
  32. rioli33

    New and Used Prices

It's been up on Carsales for a while and has seen its fair share of price adjustments. I'd say that there's nothing dodgy going on here but rather that sellers are realising that not many people will buy a used S for the same price as a brand new 3. It does have 125,000km on it as well. Also...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Boy oh boy, I've never had such a big smile on my face while running errands. Feeling blessed after spotting this SR+ at the Airport West 350kw chargers. Aero wheels actually look great in person and so does the black paint. If this was your car, 1st of all, I'm jealous and 2nd, don't worry...

Model 3 Partial Premium to Premium Interior

Depends on your build date. Pretty sure every Model 3 coming to Australia right now was early enough to have the fog lights actually built into the car as opposed to the black inserts. The only thing is that the software no longer allows you to turn them on.

    Model 3 - P Plate Prohibited Vehicle

Earlier in the thread, someone mentioned something about "fancy maths". It's all beyond me. Only 0.3kw above the limit sucks. Probably hurts sales as people want a car that their child can still drive when they get their P-plates. A mate once told me that if you change your address to a family...

    Model 3 - P Plate Prohibited Vehicle

Just going to revive this thread. Model 3 SR+ is still a P-Plate banned vehicle in numerous states but it is based on some contentious statistics. Keep in mind vehicles over 130p/w ratio are banned. See below: Wikipedia - 211kw power, 1,645 kg weight = 128.267 power/weight ratio = should be...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Likewise, Smithy. If you think about it, one more EV on the road is one less car spewing exhaust fumes onto our streets. Regardless of the model, make or trim, we should embrace it on Australian roads. The notion that there could be over 2000 model 3's in the country by the end of the year is...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Depends on what suburb you're in. Melbourne's eastern suburbs should be accustomed to the sight of a Tesla. Can't say the same about the West. I'm in Essendon and I usually see the same two Model X every day on Buckley street. Sometimes the odd P100D silver X as well.
