CPO Roadsters for sale in Menlo Park

Also, I'm curious how many of the Roadsters in the picture are actually CPO Inventory, and how many are owner cars waiting to be serviced. I dropped my Roadster off on Monday for its annual service, and I see it in the picture that was taken on Tuesday. Probably a handful, 4-5 are waiting to be...

CPO Roadsters for sale in Menlo Park

Anybody have any idea what their asking prices are for these? Too bad so many of them are outside getting exposed to the elements.

EVent: Silicon Valley EAA Rally seeks EVs/pih @De Anza College 9/23/2012

Yup, I think including graphics of each of the 3 cars would have been the way to go, rather than mashing them together. Oh well, the event is still for a good cause, even if the graphic is a bit odd. The rest of the flyer is pretty attention-getting and informative, which is why I decided to...

    Nissan Leaf

Wow, that Nismo Leaf is the best looking Leaf I've ever seen. And well engineered, too, to put up those times with standard Leaf drivetrain components. I like the honesty and good attitude of the Nismo team. At the end it shows the Nismo Leaf having the fastest lap by a few seconds, and they...

California DMV - Plates & HOV Stickers

When I applied for the HOV lane stickers a few months ago, they arrived fairly quickly - within 1-2 weeks, as I recall. I bought the car used, so I could apply for the stickers based on the current plate, and apply for a personalized plate at the same time. The personalized plates took a full 12...

Great insideline track test preview of performance model S

Yup. I felt the same at Laguna Seca - performance backed off after a few laps, but what a blast while it lasted. All of the performance numbers and such are great to compare, but I think it comes down to the fact that Tesla is putting out some really fun to drive cars with the Roadster and Model...

Great insideline track test preview of performance model S

True enough. But what about the first lap out of those ten laps? The Refuel Races we've had the last few years here in California, for example, are based on a one lap time trial, where there would be hope for the Roadster getting in a good time before becoming power limited. During the...

Great insideline track test preview of performance model S

From these test results, it looks like the Roadster could actually have better handling than the Model S. The Model S certainly did well at Laguna Seca at the Refuel Races last month, taking the top spots over the Roadsters. There was a lot of talk that the Model S would have a much lower center...

4th annual ReFuel: Sun 7/1/12 @ Laguna Seca

Wow, thanks for the detailed turn by turn feedback! I'll have to study this for a bit before going back to Laguna Seca again. I don't want to take too many risks with the Roadster, but becoming a better driver and following what you mentioned to drive smoother around the track should get me to a...

4th annual ReFuel: Sun 7/1/12 @ Laguna Seca

Yup, I'm planning on going back next year. I'll probably take it a bit easy to preserve me and the car, but it's a fun EV community event, besides just the racing. For racing, I'm thinking about taking the old 330 to Thunderhill for a driving school with the BMW club there in November. The 330...

4th annual ReFuel: Sun 7/1/12 @ Laguna Seca

I heard that an instructor for the first two practice sessions before the time trial would be $110. Peter (in the first video) dropped into my car for the first session then I couldn't find him later. If anybody knows contact info for him, PM me, I'd like to pay him for his time and instruction...

4th annual ReFuel: Sun 7/1/12 @ Laguna Seca

I think having an instructor in the car or an experienced driver during your first 1-3 races would be a great idea. I know I appreciated having an instructor in the car with me during the first practice session. You may have habits or "opportunities to improve your technique" you don't realize...

4th annual ReFuel: Sun 7/1/12 @ Laguna Seca

Considering that my prep for this was driving the track in Forza 4 on the XBOX 360, I'd say I turned out to be better prepared than I expected to be. The "point to pass" arrangement worked well as long as folks paid attention to their rear view mirror. It goes without saying, but there is a lot...

How to protect nose of the Roadster from paint chips, rocks, and ground scrapes?

Tesla offers the original Paint Armor (aka clear bra or Starshield) as an upgrade for used Roadsters - they charge $2,000 for the materials and install and $200 for a detail prior to install. I'm planning on getting it. By the way, I did some measurements of the family vehicles and the Roadster...

    Hello from Denver, CO

Welcome FusionCO! I just bought Roadster 212 a couple of weeks ago and have been having a great time with it as well. I'm getting the HPC installed next week. If the HPC hadn't come with the car, I would have gone the UMC route as well. Also, there's lots of posts about how to optimally adjust...

Calling all Denver, Coloradans (with Roadsters)

I recently purchased a Roadster and have been telling my cousin who lives near Denver all about it. However, there are certain qualities of the car that are hard to put into words. Such as the maniacal laughter one might experience the first time they really accelerate. I'd love to take him out...

    Roadster car cover

Thanks for the tip - I ordered from AutoBarn.com, too. I just ordered the NOAH cover, I don't mind it being a bit bulky and I'm familiar with the NOAH material from previous car covers I've had. For now I'm lucky in that I can park in a garage at work, so I shouldn't need to use the car cover...

Lesson Learned: Keep your Brake Rotors Conditioned!

OK, good thing I asked. I did a session with ten hard stops to break in the brakes earlier today and drove around for a bit afterward to let the rotors cool. The brakes are now much less noisy than they used to be, but I think I need at least one more session to get them where they need to be.

    Question on Charger Location

I have a friend who had the ingenius idea (probably some others on this forum have as well) to put a dryer outlet in the ceiling of his garage, then he plugged a UMC into it, bolted the UMC to the ceiling and rigged the cord to hang down just above where he needs to plug it into the car. That...

Lesson Learned: Keep your Brake Rotors Conditioned!

Thanks for this detailed explanation - I was wondering how many hard stops would be about right for "one session" before things get too hot - it sounds like 10 hard stops should be about right. Rather than drive around non-stop for 10-15 minutes afterward, could you just stop and put on the...

    Just picked up my Tesla!

No kidding. One owner I spoke to when checking out cars was pretty excited to explain how he put in his order back in 2006. He even showed me his reservation confirmation letter from 2006. Hello from Santa Clara, CA and new owner of Roadster #212

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. On another note - yes, the E-9 rates look great. Living in Santa Clara, Santa Clara has its own utilities - which usually have great rates - SVP or Silicon Valley Power for electricity. However, it looks like their time-of-use rates are definitely not as...

    #212 - Twilight Blue -[SOLD]

Thanks dsm363 and Doug_G - I've got just the place in mind where I can break in the brakes - where I broke them in on my previous car. I guess that buying a 3 year old car I didn't expect to need to break in the brakes, but you're right, they probably weren't used very much, especially with the...

    #212 - Twilight Blue -[SOLD]

I purchased #212 on Friday and picked it up on Saturday. The folks who sold it were great to work with. It's a bit unusual - when I picked it up it only had 460 miles on it. My main concern was the battery, as it seems like the AC motor and other components shouldn't have been effected by the...
