    Upgraded to OEM Red Calipers-MXP

Tom does the rear have plastic? I’m not sayin they weren’t genuine. I just wanted to understand whether the rear caliper had a plastic cover like some are reporting.

    Upgraded to OEM Red Calipers-MXP

Tom do the rear calipers have a plastic cover? The pictures make it appear that the rear caliper has a plastic cover and not the same as the 6 piston the front has. I understand about 90% of the braking is done by the front, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the rear brakes were lower performance.

    Upgraded to OEM Red Calipers-MXP

I went ahead and requested service from Tesla. My invoice shows $440 for each caliper, labor was $459 and they added new brake lines ($28 each) and fluid (8.25) surprisingly I didn’t see new brake pads total was 2471 including tax

    Upgraded to OEM Red Calipers-MXP

Tom there are people saying the rear is basically a standard brake with a caliper cover. Can you confirm or deny that claim?

Did anyone go from a Raven to the refresh? Thoughts?

I’ve owned all 3 generations of the X. 2016 90D, 2019 Raven LR, and now a 22 Plaid. Get the refresh. Like others have stated the build quality is much better as the iterations pass.

    12V Access: Model S 2021 Refresh

Look up teslatap on YouTube. He has a wire tap kit that’s easy to install that I use for my radar detector. It’s always on if you have sentry on. Otherwise shuts off after 5 minutes after car is in park. He sells the kit through eBay. Super easy install. This will only work on refresh/plaid S/X...

Looking for the Lighted Rear Appliqué

Evoffer mentions 2015 and earlier S should buy an appliqués from the service center.

Looking for the Lighted Rear Appliqué

EV Offer does recommend that older vehicles purchase a newer applique and then their kit will work for it. Just route the wire through the cabin to CANBUS and it works. Signals, park mode, charging, stop, reverse.

Looking for the Lighted Rear Appliqué

Yes if you are careful you can remove the letters with a box cutter. it’s basically 4 plastic welds holding the letters in the appliqué and the letters are mounted on a solid plate so it’s not like the letters are individually attached it’s 1 plate.
  13. MLo1

Looking for the Lighted Rear Appliqué

Evoffer formerly Tesla offer sells this now and the hardest part of the install was removing the existing letters on the oem appliqué. And has many modes, braking, signal, park and charge.

    12V Access: Model S 2021 Refresh

I used the cap. And wrapped and secured it with electrical tape. I use it for an led scanner, lighted T logo and power frunk. Been that way for 4 months and no issues whatsoever

Wiki Model X Refresh Issues Thread

My issue was quite unique in that the wheel change only worked half the time and I would intermittently lose power in the seats on that side of the vehicle or sometimes both when they both had the error. I did get an update today 2022.8.3 which I presume is the fix. We’ll see

Brought mine in. The techs claimed the use of a seat belt extender for my kids booster was the culprit. They said only plug it in when in use. We’ll see if that’s true. I hope it is. But I only had one extender on one side and got intermittent errors on either side and twice indicating both...

Do you keep It plugged in? I’ve heard just checking the app a lot and having summon on standby can drain battery a lot. I keep my plaid parked outside but plugged in with sentry on and cabin overheat protection on and only lose 3 miles overnight

Wiki Model X Refresh Issues Thread

I’ve got the same issue intermittently. Some times the wheel configuration change works to fix other times it won’t. The one thing I have found that seems to “fix” it is to turn on the seat warmers on all seats and go for a shirt 2-3 minute drive. Once I park after the drive- power seems to have...

Refreshed 2021/2022 Model X Owners Thread

Remove your widget a couple nights and see how that goes. 45-55 is still a bit cold for your battery so it will try to keep itself warm. Because you say it’s 45-55 I assume your vehicle is outside. If you have sentry on that could be a factor especially if you get a lot of false alarms. If you...
