    Aptera

I’m hopeful for them. I have a M3 LR for family trips, but for my wife’s commute to work (<10mi/day) it seems ideal . If you commute 10-20 mi during the week and take a longer trip or two on the weekend the bigger batteries makes sense. For family trips it’s out, obviously, but for daily...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

After returning a MR RWD M3 a couple years ago we're back in 'the game'. Same cosmetically but LR AWD. 869xxx VIN blue/black, new headlights. Delivery was 1hr after scheduled time (living up to my expectations), but loving it so far. Trying to mimic results achieved on the drive home in ABRP...

Anyone return their car who ordered after 2/28?

It’s been awhile since my last update. I didn’t have to pressure at all and got refunded in around 2 weeks. I was pretty surprised considering how delayed things typically are with Tesla.

Screwed by Tesla today... M3 LR

I had a similar delivery problem (ended up being a steering column module fault), though I never got to see the car on the day of. They did end up doing a home delivery so I didn’t have to take another 6hr round trip to get it.

    Return Debate

Sales Adviser said 4-6 weeks. They were very friendly about it and understood my position. I joked that in Tesla time that meant 8-12 weeks and he conceded that the only other return he's worked took 7 weeks.

    Return Debate

Respectfully, I disagree. I think my experience with the Tesla is unusual, but I don’t think it’s common with established manufacturers. It’s certainly not common in my experience with new cars.

    Return Debate

Update for those interested: Service decided to tow the car, which was a relief. The thought of a few mountain passes without regen worried me some. The problem was a connector to some nonspecified sensor. They were able to correct the problem quickly. I did return the car, however. I had...

Anyone return their car who ordered after 2/28?

Details here: Return Debate The car is fantastic when it works and I really wanted this to work out. I think my experience is not typical, but I lean towards not getting another one. I just can't afford to deal with having a car fixed when the SC is 3hrs away and I've got work + a family that...

Anyone return their car who ordered after 2/28?

I’m going to return my problematic MR. It’s getting towed tomorrow. I was told 4-6 weeks for a refund. It’ll probably be longer than that, knowing Tesla. My understanding is it is for the full value of the car.

    Return Debate

I called service and we tried a power cycle and tablet reboot and neither fixed the issue. The car drives much differently without Regen or power steering. It’s on 2019.5.15, since they updated the software immediately prior to delivery. It makes me wonder if this is the issue it had prior to...

    Return Debate

Yeah, I know they discontinued them. I'd buy a LR RWD if I believed it'd be (mostly) problem free. I really want to love the car, but if I return it I probably am not buying another Tesla for awhile.

    Return Debate

My MR delivery was delayed (the day I showed up at the SC 3 hrs away!) by 3 days due to a bad steering column sensor. I had a loaner for those days, and they drove the 3 out to me on Friday, 3/15. Since then I drove the car 70 miles and today on the way home I got a litany of error messages...

Tesla loan comparison spreadsheet - auto updates hourly

From my experience: 1) Within ~1 week. A verbal 'you're approved' was given the day after submitting an application. 2) Vin required to issue the check. Preapproval didn't require a VIN, just an amount financed and details of the car (make, model, trim). 3) They'll do either. We were on a...

Refund for paint/wheel/interior option for 2018 models?

I was told 6-8 weeks. The paperwork reflected the refund.

Help Me Decide SR+ vs MR VS LR RWD

If it's your only car it's pretty easy to justify the LR RWD. As has been posted a bunch here, it's definitely the best $/mi range. I'd expect resale to hold a premium as well. I originally ordered the SR+ but realized, like you did, that 90%-10% was on the edge of usability for our location...

Wiki Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

Well, the 'delivery experience' for my survey won't be a high rating. I showed up, as scheduled and communicated by the advisor, at noon. He informed us that the car was in service because of a seatbelt warning, and that they couldn't let it go because it was a safety issue. Estimated time to...

Tesla loan comparison spreadsheet - auto updates hourly

Big thanks to T3slaMecca for this! I wouldn't have found rates like this looking on my own. My feedback: I scored a 48mo, 1.7?% loan from Fairwinds using the Lion Nation membership. The discount their published rate 1/4% if you pay using a Fairwinds checking account. They're clearly used to...

Wiki Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

I ordered an MR on 3/4. I got a VIN and delivery appt the next day. I've yet to have anyone contact me at Tesla, but I HAVE called their help line. The national rep gave me info on the car's shipment to the service center and info on the car itself and was able to change my delivery appt. I...

Should I be upset about receiving a 2018 car?

Probably depends on the specs. I ordered a MR Blue/Aero and got a vin next day, but it is a 2018 VIN. I don't care, so long as the build quality and battery are good. I haven't heard from the adviser yet, but plan to get a build date from him/her. EDIT: Based on build sequence I'd bet it's a...

SR+ Range Question - Advice from current owners

Thanks, that’s a very informative breakdown. Do you have a 3 yet? Curious if you’re achieving better than average efficiency in the high country.

SR+ Range Question - Advice from current owners

We’re in the mountains, but in very bad conditions would take the Subaru. It isn’t often that we need to take both cars up the mountain in blizzard conditions. The Tesla is replacing my Mazda 3 hatch that I’ve had for ten years. 2wd with snow tires is VERY capable. I actually prefer taking the...

SR+ Range Question - Advice from current owners

Then I'd have ordered the Performance! My experience in ICE vehicles is that we do better than on a level road at sea level. Because elevation. I assume the lower drag translates to EV...it'll be interesting to see. I've been watching those. Hopefully they get installed in the next few...

SR+ Range Question - Advice from current owners

Thanks for the responses. Since I didn't have a VIN yet I changed my order to a MR RWD. The headroom will be nice for the airport trips, as there really aren't bail out options between here and there! I'm less concerned about winter range, as we'll be taking the Outback in the winter (and...

SR+ Range Question - Advice from current owners

We placed an order for an SR+ shortly after the announcement, as we'd been shopping other EVs (Bolts, etc) and the range is in line with what we typically use in extreme cases. We live in rural CO, but also have a Subaru Outback that does long range family hauling/towing duties. The 'extreme'...

    [Poll] - Are u buying the Standard $35k or $37k Model 3?

We'd resolved to eventually get the MR unless Chevy tried to dump bolts at ~30k selling price. A lot of the desire to wait or go with cheaper EV was image in a small town (trying not to be too showy). Everyone thinks the Teslas are really expensive, but go price a truck sometime! I imagine...

    [Poll] - Are u buying the Standard $35k or $37k Model 3?

I suspect results here are skewed, since I bet there aren't THAT many members here without a Tesla. I just joined the forum, and placed an order for a SR+ hours after the announcement. I wasn't a reservation holder previously, but have admired teslas. We were shopping PHEVs and Bolts, but...
