    2017 Model X vs 2023 Model X

Coming from a pre-Raven X with 22's, driving both the Raven and refresh with 20's and suspension set to comfort and purposely driving in some rough areas was one of the biggest improvements I found. That part really impressed me.

    2017 Model X vs 2023 Model X

Gotta say, I like the arguments and features (or lack there of in some instances) for both legacy and refresh models. I love my 2018, the stalks, lack of cabin camera, etc. But at the same time after driving the refresh without stalks, newer centre console, etc, I'd be quite happy with that as...

    2017 Model X vs 2023 Model X

I don't disagree - my 2018 P100D feels like a brand new car all around still (damn wish I had the active rear spoiler though lol). But one thing that I find a bit rough compared to newer models is the intel / MCU2 compared to Ryzen. Certain things still feel so slow. I mean like we've been...

    2017 Model X vs 2023 Model X

Yeah that particularly I find such a weird design. And I also don't find a good spot to keep my phone (or passenger's phone) while driving. The centre console area on the refresh I find so much more well thought out.

    2017 Model X vs 2023 Model X

It's stupid but this would bug me in a new X as well. My 2018 has EAP which I use for the majority of my driving day to day (even having to pay for EAP on a new X would sting), and our Y has FSD. I love using FSD whenever I can bug that eye tracking nag drives me crazy at times.

    2017 Model X vs 2023 Model X

Thanks for sharing, really enjoying reading these comparisons. I have a Feb 2018 built P100D with 22's. Love the acceleration, but just in attempt to keep cost down if I was making the upgrade I was looking at LR with 20's (really want to maximize range). Very cool to hear about the comparison...

    2017 Model X vs 2023 Model X

Nice summary, thanks for sharing. I currently drive a legacy X (pre-raven), and have been so tempted to upgrade to a newer model. I had a 3 prior to the X, and also have a Y in the household. I needed a bigger vehicle and ended up with the X (which I love) and don't think I could go back to...

Received a redeem code for the mobile charger on my old RN #?

I got this as well, as did a friend (from orders we originally mate in late 2021, delivered in 2022). I wonder if Tesla will catch on and cancel orders done with these coupons.

    MCU Upgrade - Canada

Just had the MCU upgrade completed on my 2018 X. My goodness what a difference. I'm in shock at how bad MCU1 was in comparison. Also nice to have side cameras available, FSD visualizations, recent software update, and oddly SiriusXM showing up as an option (didn't have that before, though not...

    MCU Upgrade - Canada

I agree and know exactly what you mean. I had a Model 3 for over 3 years, and just like other computing devices (phones, tablets, computers, etc) I could feel it slow down with system updates that brought new features, needed more resources, etc. But even then, it still felt miles ahead of where...

Model X LR reservation for sell in Canada

Damn, even with an order from back in the spring you still get hit with the luxury tax? Out of curiosity, any idea if the order can be edited still (colour, EAP, FSD)?

    MCU Upgrade - Canada

Old thread but this was helpful to read through. I previously had a 2019 Model 3 with MCU2 + AP3 hardware. Recently sold it and got a 2018 (Feb 2018 built) Model X P100D (MCU1 + AP2.5). Wasn't super familiar about the MCU1 v MCU2 difference. But after using the 3 (and a Y with the Ryzen MCU) my...

    Canada Waiting Room

I do like the size and feel of the Y quite a bit. It feels like a beefier model 3 with a pretty solid stance to it. The 3 definitely a bit more nimble with handling, but compared to my X, the 3 and Y feel very similar to each other and significantly nicer driving dynamics. Funny, Y and X...

    Canada Waiting Room

I put on winters 2 weekends ago (I ordered a set of 19" wheels + tires from pmctire). Last weekend we had a decent amount of fresh snow (nothing like the several feet worth that Buffalo was hit with), but it was enough to test them out and get a good feel. I do think in certain climates, you...

    Canada Waiting Room

Been amazing so far. Honestly I'm very impressed with the driving dynamics, handling and comfort (I've also had a 3 and wasn't expecting it to handle as well as it does given the heigh/size). Only issue, I noticed early on was a rattle + squeaking coming from the rear bench. Made an...

Cup holders for front cubby replacements

Been searching quite a bit but can't find anything. Recently purchased a used 2018 X. The front cubby space in the console has slots so you can put those inserts to use as cup holders (see pic). This X didn't have any. Any clue where I can buy these things? Thanks!

    2022.8.10.6 Tesla MX

No, I recently purchased a used 2018 X with EAP. Requested service for a couple small items, and also asked about pushing a software update. they replied saying it was on the most recent version.... My 3 has FSD, but its on 2022.20 branch. 2022.8 seems quite old.
  18. J

    2022.8.10.6 Tesla MX

I just picked up a 2018 X and its on 2022.8.10.5. Is this really the most recent software version? wouldn't 8 refer to the 8th week of 2022?

    Model X Winter Tires

    Appreciate that feedback, thanks

    Model X Winter Tires

Mind I ask why you say that? I've been looking at a few used options online, as well as some sites in Canada like PMCtire and blackcircles.ca. I just want to make sure I end up with correct wheels. For example, if I use a squared setup, does it affect anything if the rears are not as wide as...

    Model Y comfort suspension?

Not sure if my Y has the new suspension (took delivery Oct 23), but the ride comfort and handling really stood out to me - excellent combination of comfort and handling, much better than I was expecting.
  23. J

    Model X Winter Tires

Thanks. And yes, definitely the refreshed S/X use bluetooth TPMS (along with the Y and 3 was updated in 2021 I believe).
  24. J

    Model X Winter Tires

Tesla store just has a staggered set of 20's available, and it mentions only compatible with the 2021 forward. From any searching I've done it seems like the bolt pattern, centre bore and offset are the same across all X models, so confused as to why the package on Tesla says not compatible...

    Model X Winter Tires

Thanks! Any idea if specs for the X have changed with regards to wheel size / bolt pattern / etc over the years?
  26. J

    Model X Winter Tires

Hi All - I'm looking at getting a used X, 2018 P100D. It currently has the staggered 22 setup, but no clue what sizes can be used for winters. Been searching and trying to get a good idea, but haven't had a lot luck with definitive answers. I think the staggered 20's would be 255/45R20 +...

    Canada Waiting Room

Nice. I might be in the minority, but I dislike the mud flap look and prefer not having them, so it didn't bother me too much, lol.
  28. J

    Canada Waiting Room

Same here, no more Tesla plate frame nor did it have mud flaps (seems most deliveries past few days were missing them).

    Canada Waiting Room

My pickup went well - car was just about flawless. A lot of little details and improvements I can tell have occurred these past few years since I got my 3 in 2019. It was quite busy in Oakville today with a lot of deliveries occurring!
  30. J

    Canada Waiting Room

Congrats to all the pickups the past few days. @Voltaire67 - hope your remaining issues get resolved. Unfortunate to have to deal with that with a new car. I’m headed to Oakville shortly to pickup our Y!

    Canada Waiting Room

99% sure they can remove FSD from new vehicles like that.
  32. J

    Canada Waiting Room

Interesting to see some actual inventory.... But please don't tempt me again like that 😄
  33. J

    Canada Waiting Room

No, and to be honest I didn't even think to ask lol. I needed to update names on registration and ask re trade in. I haven't had any other communication with an SA or text so it seemed like the easiest way to get help.
  34. J

    Canada Waiting Room

We're nearing the end of these long waits. I stopped by the Oakville store today to update some info on my order. It was busy, and sounds like they're doing 60 deliveries per day this week.
  35. J

    Canada Waiting Room

I've heard about that but have never received a text lol. Just the odd email for scheduling delivery.
  36. J

    Canada Waiting Room

Makes sense. I've been curious about possibly changing FSD to EAP, or adding a trade in, but I don't have an SA. Had a great connection with one from my 3 a few years back, but he left Tesla a little while ago. Maybe I need to swing by the store and ask in person.
  37. J

    Canada Waiting Room

Wow, crazy. How was it switching EAP for FSD? I notice I can no longer make any changes like that online anymore. Do you have a SA you check with?
  38. J

    Canada Waiting Room

@canadian.bacon - that sounds like a no brainer with the trade!
  39. J

    Canada Waiting Room

Any of you guys trading in a Tesla? I've been thinking about selling me 3 privately, but wondering how reasonable of a trade in offer I would get.

    Canada Waiting Room

Looks like its really happening for us with late October deliveries!
  41. J

    Canada Waiting Room

Same here - my 1 week window turned into 9-10 day window (with an earlier date) and then shortly after received an email to schedule pickup.
  42. J

    Canada Waiting Room

Just got email to choose a delivery time (my window is currently 9 days and was offered 22nd or 25th for delivery). 1 week today I’ll be picking it up. NF570, though still no VIN in app / website / MVPA.
  43. J

    Canada Waiting Room

FWIW, I can only see my VIN in source code. Not in the app, website or MVPA. It showed up when my EDD dropped to a week.
  44. J

    Canada Waiting Room

The P is tempting but I’d say don’t switch. I was tempted to cancel at times but our older orders are before several price increases. They’d love for us to cancel. Don’t give in lol.
  45. J

    Canada Waiting Room

Mine just updated too! was Oct 24-31 and now is Oct 18-27. Though the new EDD is 2 days longer…

Nice! We’re pretty close, mine is 5709XX. mine is dec 21 order, white on black, 5 seater, 20’s.

    Canada Waiting Room

Thanks for sharing. I'm with TDMM as well and will likely be calling them in a week or so for my Y. I do have a 3 and another vehicle with them that have the 5 year replacement cost option. Interesting to hear how they no longer offer it. Do get the sense that the market / economy are all out...

    Canada Waiting Room

Not sure when it changed, but even older orders were getting the credit to use. Friend of mine with a Nov 21 order did, and I actually just got an email with credit last night for my Dec 21 order.
