    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

I am totally confused. Last month I purchased V3 and stayed away from systems connecting to the CAN buss because I read in forums at least two dyi installers were concerned about voiding the Tesla Warranty. This warranty issue was further reiterated by Cici (of Hansshow Guangzhou China) on...

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

For me the foot sensor works Perfectly but you must have your smartphone in your pocket. And that's the way it should be, with the smartphone (iPhone) in your pocket, the M3 recognizes you (security check) and then opens the trunk instantly. This precludes anyone from just walking up to your...

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

Installing the Foot Sensor is very easy. Since you already had removed the bumper, you know how easy that is - only 8 bolts, 6 clips and two Torx screws. Just remove the bumper again, install the foot sensor at the bottom, and run the cable through the right hand pass-thru (where you probably...

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

My understanding is, and I could be wrong, that once the car is in motion, nothing will unlock and open the trunk. One of these days I’ll test but I think that safety is built-in

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

I put the tailgate button up as high as I could without interfering with structures behind the panel. I too was concerned about something hitting the button, but I think where it is should be safe from being accidentally hit and out of the way.

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

I installed the tailgate button on the right side panel, an option given in the Hansshow printed instructions. So I did not have to remove its connector and fish the wire up thru the black tubing on the right side. I chose this side location, not because it was easier but for practicality...

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

I thought I read somewhere that v3 had additional capabilities or feedback but don't remember what they are.

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

I hesitated installing the foot sensor because it required removing the bumper, but glad I did (in the end, had to remove the bumper anyway to run the strut power cables). I find the foot sensor is now the method I'll probably use the most. Most other methods have a time delay - Siri with Apple...

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

How do you identify v2 vs v3? What are the differences? Thanks

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

Thanks for the info. So now I know why changing the Force did not work. This feature has apparently been eliminated . Right now mine is working fine, the force is not excessive but I am concerned about the future as parts "wear in". I assume that I have to request the software update from...

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

I have just now successfully installed the Hansshow Powered trunk liftgate with foot sensor to my Tesla M3 SR+. Took 9.5 hours of which half the time was spent finding answers/suggestions on YouTube videos. The supplied instructions that came with the kit were No Help and completely contrary to...

    Model S, Model T

Until I got my futuristic, cutting edge Tesla Model 3 two months ago, my daily driver was this 1951 MGTD MKII. It was REALLY my daily driver, drove from west coast Florida (VENICE) to San Francisco and also to Prince Edward Island. Some say I am crazy, or gutsy or BOTH. The MG motto is Safety...
