The only thing I want is a smoother ride

I totally agree. I've had a Mazdaspeed 6 and a Mitsubishi Evolution and this ride is noticeably harsher. For wherever reason it's primarily potholes and highway joints... The rest of pretty good. I'm afraid the harshness it's going to induce rattles in the car prematurely. (I'm on the stock 18s...

Telsa AP and the basic speed law

Appreciate the in depth reply. We're 90% in agreement, so I don't understand why you down-voted me? Fwiw I'm an electrical engineer that deals with microwave and fiber telecom systems

Telsa AP and the basic speed law

There's no way the car can see better than a person. Our resolution, sensitivities, focusing ability, etc., can't be touched by commerical cameras and processing. Maybe if they were using lidar and scanning a range/wavelength we can't see, but they're not.

Telsa AP and the basic speed law

Setting it lower does nothing for the issue the AP is taking about, which is momentary sleeping in neighboring lanes. Same thing happens to me on my morning commute and I have to remotely turn AP off because it's dangerous and not acting as a human driver would Edit: I don't want to have to...

2019.8.3 — still no range boost?

I think there's a lot of confusion on this issue. All EV car batteries experience degradation. Tesla's curve is actually better than most but still exists. There was a study out of Norway I believe where thousands of Model S owners reported their degradation over years. The result was what...

2019.8.3 — still no range boost?

I'm confused. 80% @ 280 miles would equate to 350 miles @ 100%. That can't be right. 280 miles at 90% would make a lot more sense, and would imply you now have the range bump given expected degradation that pretty much every Tesla owner sees after the first few months.

2019.8.3 — still no range boost?

I got my range boost on my LR on 5.15. TeslaFi is calculating my battery at 314-316 miles. Looking at a long term model S study, a drop off 3% in the first year is typical, then degradation starts to flatten out. Fwiw - June 2018 build, early July delivery. ~6900 miles. Almost always charged...

Kind of regretting getting SR+ and not LR or AWD, anyone?

I don't believe this is the case any longer. On Li-Ion the important thing is total cycle depth and duration at very high SoC it very low SoC. Your point still holds, but charging between 60-70% on both vehicles should produce the same longevity. The difference is you get to stay in that sweet...

    Still stuck on 2019.5.15

On 8.3 I started getting black frozen screens requiring a forced reboot (hold both scroll wheels down) every couple of days. Car still works but can't see any data about speed or climate. Looking forward to the fix

    Still stuck on 2019.5.15

IP packets are tagged for the type of information. Certain information if it gets dropped or corrupted can be retransmitted. (For example, time-based data, like for Videostreaming and VoIP, are dropped if the check sum doesn't match what's expected. A file transfer can resend a corrupted section...

    Still stuck on 2019.5.15

Yes, they are almost always on the latest firmware. And if you ever go in for service they'll update the firmware.
