An ESS owner may find that it might not be best to turn in that old battery in for a new one.

An aftermarket company might sell a product / package that seats the 900 lb unit in a cradle and have a hookup that would plug into a home's breaker box.

ESS home battery backup kit. One, two, or more might be able to do more than act in an emergency for going off grid with Solar or Wind to recharge.

I'd expect Tesla to require the old one as a core before you can get a new one, if only to protect their proprietary technology.
