Bipartisan Action on Global Warming

Anthropomorphic global warming has a simple solution. Detailed action by government isn't it. While people may like the EV bonus plan that the Biden administration put out, paying extra for US and union made cars doesn't help reduce CO2. Excluding Tesla, but subsidizing VW and Ford, doesn't help. Governments should figure out the financial impact of global warming and tax green house gas sources, like gasoline, diesel, coal, and other waste gases and then tax the sale end users to compensate for the impact. They should reduce the other taxes to keep things revenue neutral. The general amount of government taxing and spending shouldn't be part of the global warming discussion. The tax in any country should be that country's percent contribution to green house gases times the global impact. Once the governments do this, the private sector will provide solutions.

The government should get out of the way of innovation. The fact that the US hasn't allowed rear view cameras yet, when Europe has, boggles the mined. Much of Europe has very safe nuclear and the US can't seem to get out of it's own way on this.

Having the government fund solar companies, like Solyndra, or light rail where the population density doesn't justify it, and wastes resources. It likely contributes to global warming, while making the greenies feel good.

Under this plan, almost no one would be buying gas guzzlers and the ones on the road would quickly become obsolete. The private sector would figure out how to make it work efficiently, rather than the rich getting richer on government subsidies.
