Having learnt somewhere that older Model S vehicles with FSD were eligible for a free camera upgrade but suspecting it was USA only, I thought I would find out if it applied in the UK by submitting a service request. It went in on the app on 12 May and was quickly approved for a mobile visit on the morning of 22 May at cost of £0.00.
At 16:30 today 19 May, a Tesla service person phoned to say the upgrade was not available. He indicated that the service request was processed and approved by AI, without human intervention until he picked it up a short time before close of play on the last working day before the service. AI had assumed it was for FSD upgrade (which I have already).
Next time I have a service request approved, I may send a message via the app with some trivial question in the hope that it stimulates a human check of what has been arranged.
