The Telegraph (A paper in the UK) ran an article that claims "NCC Group, a Manchester-based cyber security company, showed Tesla how a radio tool can capture the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signal from an owner’s phone and rebroadcast it to their car."
“In the test setup, the iPhone was placed on the top floor at the far end of a home, approximately 25 metres away from the vehicle, which was in the garage at ground level,” said NCC Group researcher Sultan Qasim Khan.

Mr Khan’s replay tool was positioned around seven metres from the car, representing a criminal lurking outside the front door or in the street. The Model 3 used in the test was successfully unlocked as a result.

This sounds like a serious threat! Does anyone know more about this, or if there is a way to defend against it?
