This car blows (climate control help)

Sorry for the clickbait title.

I’m struggling with the climate control. It insists in blowing cold air in my face in auto mode. It was 40F (5C), and I had the climate control set to 66F.

Most automatic climate controls will blow air at your feet and the defroster on cold days. Any suggestions to avoid a frost bitten nose?

I typically prefer NOT to use the auto mode. It's hard telling how I am going to feel from day to day.

You could turn on the climate control in the Tesla app five minutes before you sit in the car. Electric heaters warmup fast, and you’d eliminate your issue.

If you don’t like the air blowing in your face while driving, adjust the fan to go to the side window and hit the back of the monitor for diffusive heat control.

Do you know how to deflect the air in various directions?

I do. It just seems to keep the fan speed higher than necessary given I’m trying to keep it on the cool side. If sort of given up and just keep the cabin at a more comfortable temperature. The energy savings are slight anyway.
