Lots of folks have paid extra for battery upgrades, and some got lucky and upgraded for free. I would totally use all my goodwill to try to make that happen for me.
But if per Hank’s comment, if you don’t have air suspension, it’s a pretty big ask to have the service center build you a non-stock spec car. I don’t know that I’ve seen that done, although I’ve heard of inadvertent attempts that go wrong where the service center ends up putting the car back as spec at their own expense, so I can see that as possible, just not likely.
I’ve had this discussion with Jason before and I suspect that although there is no risk in putting a 100kWh battery in an 85kWh stock suspension car, I can see why the liability of differences in crash test configuration differences would mean that corporate will always kill that upgrade if they see an internal service center attempt it or in your case repeat it.
