Just purchased 2023 Model Y. Some questions

Hey there everyone I'm a new member just bought a model y 2023 long range. Still getting used to everything it's only been a couple weeks but in about 10 days my temporary registration runs out and I still haven't gotten my new registration yet. Anybody else have this problem and have any solutions? Was hoping not to have to try to contact Tesla cuz I haven't had the greatest response from them so far. Also I can't seem to "like" any posts on these forums. Feel like a real noob here.
Lastly I see they're already a lot of posts on this but I have to say the auto wipers are kind of crap. Not what I expect from Tesla at this point whom I think is generally pretty awesome. They turn on in perfectly dry weather and they do not turn on when it's pouring rain. So then I have to look down at the screen and find the right button to push and then I have to look back at it when I want to speed them up, etc, etc. Anyway it sounds like I'm not the only one with this problem hoping we get some updates soon.

  • Question
Is this normal for the left light?

Just a quick question,

Is it normal to have a split in the left headlight like the picture attached. People have always flashed thinking my lights are on high beam but recently a passenger commented on how high the top section of my left light was shining. Is it normal to have a split in the left beam like this?

2016 Model S Refresh No cabin heat

Does anyone know what parts my 2016 Model S refresh takes when ordering replacement parts. My heater just broke and I don’t wanna tow my Tesla 350 km to the nearest service center. It’s to risky to drive to the appointment becuase the highway will have snow and I want be able to defrost my windshield to see. Does this model take the 2012-2016 style parts and are all the parts located in the same area?

Thumping/rolling noise while turning?

Hi - I've had my car for about 10 months and recently started hearing and kind of feeling this thumping/rolling noise when I turn. It doesn't happen on EVERY turn, but probably 50-75% of the time and can happen on both slow and faster speed turns. It sounds and feels like it's coming from the front of the car, maybe close to underneath my feet? Here's a link to 3 videos I took trying to catch the noise:

I haven't gotten into any accidents and I feel 99% confident that I don't have anything rolling around inside that would stem from me (I have covers on the vents under the front seats). I have an appointment at the service center but they're telling me that it'll be a $250 diagnosis charge if it turns out that this issue wouldn't be covered under warranty. I'm trying to find out if anyone has experienced a similar noise (so far it seems like most people get higher pitched creaking instead) or has a good idea of what the problem might be so I can better decide if I should risk the diagnosis charge. Sound familiar to anyone?

  • Question
Will tesla eventually disable my charging?

I have been daily driving a salvage model s for a little over a year now. Crash happed about 2 years ago. My car still supercharges fine. I have not ever gone to a tesla service center yet but my phone app is connected to my car. I'm concerned for my free charging and I want it to stay free. Is there any way to stop tesla from reaching into my cars cofig and changing this? I would be willing to pay someone to take my car off teslas network as long as I maintain the in car navigation.

Am I being lied to by the tint business

2023 Model Y Long Range.

I called a tint place to ask about tinting my front windows and front windshield with ceramic. The guy tells me that rear windows and rear windshield and roof are "deep dipped", and that there is "no UV protection and no heat rejection". Then I realized that the roof is 3 layers. Looks like 2 layers of glass and maybe something else. I find it hard to believe that the roof offers no heat rejection!

After hours or research I still can't tell what kind of tint, if any, is used on the rear windows and rear windshield and roof. Is it worth tinting ALL glass on the car or only the front 3 sections. The more research I do the more confused I get and don't know which route to take.

Car Thinks my Temp "Garage in a box" is a truck. Any way to stop that?

Hello. I bought a 2023 Model Y a month ago. I recently put up a temporary "garage in a box" for it. Today was the second time the brakes locked up on me. Looking at the screen, the car seems to "think" the garage is an RV with brake lights. Is there a way to train the car otherwise? I don't want to soil my white seats.

  • Question
Driver side FWD only opens partially

My brand new Tesla model x (2023 model) has this random issue of driver side FWD not opening fully quite occasionally. Tesla has tried to fix it 3 times and say it is fixed while it made no difference(They did change sensor and some other part). It is getting really frustrating as Tesla seems not fix it and just says it is normal behaviour. I park in open space where there is nothing on any side at least for 10 feet. It happens even when there is no sun and all cameras are clean. I don't know what to do. My parkins space is just very tiny slope but it does happen even on flat surface. The car which was supposed to make me stand out of the crowd does the job but for wrong reason as people notice the door is not opening fully and I have to override. I tried to reset it with no luck. Tesla won't even take vehicle back considering i reported it within first 3 weeks and even after 3 months they were unable to fix it. ANy suggestions as I lost trust on them really.

Tax credit question

I am not qualified to get the tax credit due to the cap. Is it possible to get the car on my relatives name (like father in law) and then get the tax credit from them as a gift.
Also what are the implication of insurance if this can be achieved. I see $7.5k is good amount to take the following options. Let me know your thoughts.

I am thinking of two options:
1. Get it under their name and have loan in their name and I pay it for both loan and insurance for me and my wife.
2. After the tax credit gift is done from my relative, they will sell it to me and I take the ownership from there and also switch the loan to my name.
3. Is this too much of a hassle and don't get tax credit.

I am concern mainly about insurance, will insurance allow it and what about legality of this process.

  • Question
Harvesting and replacing Ultrasonic sensors

As we all know by now, Tesla is removing the USS from its new cars to cut costs. I drive a model 3 (2021) with these sensors and am about to take delivery of a new Model Y, without them.

Is it possible/difficult to take the sensors from my old car and add them to the new one in order to keep this functionality on the newer car? The TeslaVision alone isn't nearly as accurate!

Thanks in advance!

  • Question
Model s 2014 85 870discharge cycles 215.000km odometer, is this normal? I find this odd

Hey so this is my first car a white model s 2014 85. Full range typical is 368km when I bought it, it is down now to 340km in 2 hours with 50.000km driving, in my hands. Been reading a lot about battery health and stuff, I have scan my Tesla and I saw a video of bjørn with his 2013 model s p85 Having like 700 cycles with 265.000km. Then I calculated mine which is at 870 discharge cycles at 215.000km. Which equivalent to about 230km range for every cycle which sounds totally off. My pack imbalance is 18mv at 98% Been doing some cell balancing here and there, and only charge car at 40-75% Find it very odd, means that I have only been getting about half use of my cycles. My AC charging is was like 40.000kwh and DC was 2000, which I find very good for my car. region about 20.000kwh. My total cycles is like 900 or something. I get can some screenshot and double check if anybody want the details of the numbers. Does anybody have any explanation as to why the charge cycles are so high but odometer so low? Thanks

Also some information about where I live and where this vehicle have been used, its been used in Oslo, Norways capital. Its very cold in winter.

  • Question
Ok to do alignment outside SC?

Trying to get an alignment on my 2020 model x. Firestone initially said they don't "have the software to work on Tesla". I called a different Firestone who checked with his manager after initially repeating a similar company line, and said sure why not.

Is this fine? I can't imagine Tesla themselves do an autopilot readjustment after a basic wheel alignment.

Can't redeem referral credits for Tesla Mobile Connector bundle?!?

After making a referral and receiving my 10K credits, went to the app expecting to use the referral credits to purchase the Mobile Connector bundle. But alas, I could not find the Mobile Connector as an option to purchase with credits.
Does anyone know if it's always been this way? Or might the Mobile Connector be again available for purchase via referral credits at some point in the future?
TY, most appreciated!

Is Full State of Charge Harmful to PW2

Two PW2s installed yesterday.
Very exciting time.
I’m just learning how to navigate and understand data provided by App, and reading/learning plenty here too.

I am on east coast and likely won’t draw from PW during off-peak hours because the TOU rate is only 0.062 and super off peak is 0.042.

Two Questions:

1. Does PW2 battery degrade faster if left fully charged 24/7 (used for outages only);

2. Since peak rate for TOU is higher, 0.306, can home/app be set to automatically draw from battery during rainy, snowy, overcast days or is that something users do manually with the App?

  • Question
Key Fob availability in US

I bought a MYLR in June 2023 and I'm still waiting for the key fob to be restocked so that I can purchase one for my car. However, I have no idea when they will restock the key fob. I tried asking a mobile service technician and people at a showroom, but it seems like no one knows. I wonder if there is a supply issue or if something is affecting the availability of the item. Also, I'm looking forward to buying one, but I'm not sure if eBay is a good place to order it from.
