DIY UMC gen 2 extension, how many wires?

They make a similar extension, but you can also send your umc in and they will splice and extend it the way I’m trying to do

DIY UMC gen 2 extension, how many wires?

An AC extension cord would put the UMC unit outside under the sun in my situation. QCcharge is a company that used to do this kind of extension but they said they don’t have any more cord. I think just extending the wire itself is ….. I don’t wanna say safer….. but less janky than the extension...

DIY UMC gen 2 extension, how many wires?

Since extension cords are out of stock everywhere, I’m looking for a way to do it myself. I found a few cords on eBay that are cut off from other UMC chargers, but they have either 5 wires or 8 wires. This video shows that the cable has 7 pins . Does that mean the cord on ebay is not genuine or...

UMC cable diameter vs other LV2 chargers

I’ve read that tesla umc is pretty thin for the amount of current it carries. Not sure if it’s the same for other chargers. I linked one that has similar specs to tesla, but people mentioned it’s really thick. I just don’t know what is their referrence for thickness

UMC cable diameter vs other LV2 chargers

I’m looking to get a J1772 charger because it’s easier to extend. The tesla cord fits under my door just right, any thicker and I wouldn’t be able to close the door. Do other LV2 chargers have the same thickness as the UMC? I’m looking at this one specifically but open to other suggestions...

Is this side line of light normal?

I still don’t think it’s normal but Tesla service says it is. I wonder if there are other cars like that out there.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Even with less aero surface, a smaller surface in general should be more than enough to make up for that?

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Haha yep! I was on Autopilot at 85 and so many people tailgated me

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Yeah I should’ve tracked from the beginning. The whole trip was on the same highway at the same speed. Probably some parts were uphill.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

I thought less wheel surface = more aero? They’re both lighter and smaller. I didn’t expect anything to be less efficient than the chonky uberturbines haha. I was averaging 270Wh/mi, this should’ve given me at least 270 miles. The little peak at the end is me driving in the city.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Welp. Looks like 85mph is the culprit. I was really hoping for at least around 270-280, but unless I drive 60-70 mph, I’m stuck with <250.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Did my first road trip today and the range was terrible. I was surprised to see 73% for only 169 miles. That’s approximately 232 miles full range. This is with 40lbs lighter after market 19” wheels. The ride was 95% highway and I was using Autopilot most of the ride. I actually got there with...

    Good lug nuts?

They do, but they’re a little too big imo. And I’m selling the lug nuts with the oem wheels so I’m looking for some lug nuts
