Computer screen has strange images [high fidelity park assist]

It's not a faulty image. Tesla vision now uses what is called the occupancy network. The cameras map the entire area around the vehicle into 3 dimensional cubes. it then tags the cubes as either occupied (something is in that space), or unoccupied (that space is empty). One advantage of this...

    H&R Adventure Spring Lift anyone?

Never seen these before. Looking forward to what people have to say. I have been looking at lifts for my MYLR.

    Model Y Nitpick Thread

In a way you are correct, low temps are a problem for lithium in general, but it is much less of of an issue for lithium Ion, and the charge rate to temp curve is much gentler with Lithium Ion. I have an off grid cabin in northern Michigan and have tested cold weather charging with my solar...

    Model Y Nitpick Thread

LiFePO4 cannot receive a charge below -10C and have trouble charging below 0C. If they did go to LiFePO4 they would have have to use active heating of the battery and add insulation to the case. Bottom line is I believe Lithium ion battery is a better choice for this specific application...

    Model Y Nitpick Thread

Lithium batteries are 3.6 volts per cell (nominal), 3 cells is only 11.25 volts, which is too low. 4 cells is 14.4. The existing electrical system was not designed for 48 volts, but was capable of running the 4 cell lithium ion low voltage with minimal modifications. Virtually all 12 volt...

100% range on new Model Y LR with 3 miles on it calculates to 301 miles

Battery temp also has a lot to do with the estimated range display. just a few degrees difference from the rated battery temp and the estimated range will be different than the rated range. On another note, no one I know who owns a ICE car has ever questioned the rated range of the vehicle...

    Tesla service nightmare

I don't see this as a a Tesla issue. In the US we have 12 states without Tesla service centers, and each of them is significantly larger in area than Cyprus. The market dictates where any auto company sells and services vehicles, if the market is not large enough, or not...

OEM HEPA filters done after 1~ year?

How old were the filters? Mine looked like new after a year and a half. I do park in a garage, so that may be part of it.

Did Tesla Change the Frunk Latch?

I stated in my reply that my 22 LR was mechanical close. "My 22 LR is electric open, but like yours, clicks closed (mechanical close)."

Did Tesla Change the Frunk Latch?

My 22 LR is electric open, but like yours, clicks closed (mechanical close).

    Cybertruck Specs Leaked?

I can't imagine any reasonable person believes that Tesla would install a 12KW receptical that will only deliver 2KW. As for the frunk, I've have never needed a power outlet in the front of any vehicle I've ever owned, I don't suspect I will need any in the CT. Having said that, I understand...

    Cybertruck Specs Leaked?

Don't know about all the other specs, but it looks like it confirms the AC outlets in the bed.

OEM HEPA filters done after 1~ year?

My 22 MY Bio Defense (HEPA) filters are fine after a year and a half (24K miles) commuting to and from DC during the week. Keep in mind, we like most folks on the east coast have had multiple red, purple, and maroon days this last summer due to the wild fires in CA. I changed the interior...

Why does Home Depot tell me to not use an extension cord with the demo hammer I rented

Voltage drop in the extension code causes the motor in the hammer to overheat. The motor keeps trying to turn but doesn't have the power to produce the torque needed to drive the hammer efficiently . This causes amp draw to go up, which cause the motor temp to go up with in turn burns out the...

Don't drive my Tesla in heavy rain due to battery damage???

I sympathize with the issues you had, but in all honesty most of the issues were caused by the state NY, and bad timing that Tesla didn't control with your wife's situation.. Not sure what the app issue was caused by, but it seems like most people have no issues. Hope your wife's surgery went...
