Had our car for about a month, and happened to see this the other day above the 12v outlet in the back. It sure looks like something is missing, maybe a vent cover or maybe an access cover that they forgot to snap into place. You can kinda see part of the taillight assembly and some cabling...

I did this last week and so far all I’ve gotten back was the email you referred to. I may call them before the end of the week to check on it, and while I’d like the 1000 miles free charging, it’s probably worth less than $100. But then again, free is always good.

I’m definitely gonna try to do it myself. It certainly looks easier with two people and while I’m pretty picky, it doesn’t have to be perfect. I think spending the money to get a good quality PPF is important though.

Thanks! Yeah I just ordered them through Tesla. They’re really lightweight but they’re also pretty good quality. $50 seems a bit steep but you really have to have something to cover up the center hub and lug nuts.

So far, I think it’s just the bugs that are a problem, but yeah it won’t take long before you’ll see damage from everyday driving. If I can find a buddy to help on the PPF, I might give it a try. It sure looks doable with two people and at the end of the day, it doesn’t have to be perfect. Man...
