Tesla offering plaid upgrade for $15k and 2 month earlier delivery

It seems the pricing is based on when you ordered and the pricing difference at the time. We took the deal and went from end of the year delivery to this Monday (less than two weeks from accepting the offer).

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

I'm not sure it would be representative. We ordered back in October, but it was a LR. They called a few weeks ago offering a Plaid before the end of the quarter and we took the deal. It would be winter at least before we would have taken delivery on our normal LR trajectory.

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Updating for anyone searching through later. My delivery is scheduled for Monday the 29th in KC, so about a week after getting the notice it was in transit from Fremont.

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Thanks! I only have the order agreement at the moment and it doesn't list a location. I'd hate to miss this VIN because we're out of town, but Tesla deliveries are what they are so we'll have to wait and see.

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Got my VIN (358xxx) and completed my financing/insurance formalities this morning. Right after that I received the text this morning saying the car is moving from Fremont. I bought our M3P out of existing inventory, so I'm not familiar with the process. How long does it take for them to ship it...

    Tesla ideal Finance Term length

What would you do with the money you're not applying toward your down payment or monthly payment? That is the most significant factor. If that money is going to work for you in the market or some other productive means, then it makes sense to finance over a longer term. If you're planning to use...

Advice Needed: Convincing Husband to Go Tesla

Progressive was about $100 per six months cheaper than USAA for the same coverage. YMMV as insurance rates are local and personal.

Advice Needed: Convincing Husband to Go Tesla

I used Geico prior to picking up my 3 and they quoted almost $400 per six months higher than Progressive. Definitely shop around and see who can give you the best rate.

Worth it to upgrade from LR RWD to P3D?

I pay less for insurance, with equal coverage, on my 2020 P3D+ than I did for my 2013 Leaf. Insurance is highly dependent on provider, location, and driver. Blanket statements on insurance rates are always misleading in my opinion.

Worth it to upgrade from LR RWD to P3D?

I'll follow up on my experience and provide my opinion on a few issues people have mentioned. Everyone is different and my young family absolutely loves the P. My two toddlers always demand "fast fast" when we get to a light and my wife, who has never in her life felt the need for speed in any...

Worth it to upgrade from LR RWD to P3D?

You'll get a lot of different opinions on here. Performance is something that everyone rates differently, but the fact that you're looking at going down the path gives some insight into the value you assign to it. I bought a performance and I've never driven an AWD or RWD, but I can't imagine...

    New cars coming with 2019.35.108 V10.1 ?

Picked up 2/11 and updated to ...4.2 on 2/26.

    Did i go overboard ...

I went in a similar but different direction. I ordered a standard white LR and then found a red Performance nearby in inventory and spent an extra $10k for shiny paint and face melts. Honestly I should have waited an extra few weeks for my LR delivery but the sheer fun of the Performance is...

AP Question for NEW M3 owners

For me it depends on hand placement. If I rest my hand at just either side of six o'clock on the bottom of the wheel I can more or less go indefinitely without getting buzzed. If I let off and don't properly rest my hand there it dings me every mile or so.

AP Question for NEW M3 owners

AP won't change lanes but you still get TACC for the lane change. For me the $7,500 savings more than makes up for having to take over steering, but not throttle, for lane changes on the highway. Once you get a feel for releasing AP with the turn signal it becomes really smooth to pop in and out...
