EV maker Fisker says it may go out of business

IMHO, also complicit in this sorry story are all the journalists who were flown to California to drive the Ocean around for a few hours, and who then put out positive to glowing reviews. Don't know if they had to sign agreements stating that they would not give negative feedback in order to...

EV maker Fisker says it may go out of business

He's good at drawing pretty pictures. However, from various accounts, he doesn't listen to engineers, and hires managers who also don't listen to engineers. The other day, I saw a Fisker Karma in the wild. First (and probably last) time I have ever seen one actually driving on the open road.

    Model Y Competition: Rivian R2 Price & Specs Leaked! -- $47500, 0-60 3 Sec, 330 Miles Range

I live in Europe, and literally have no idea what you are talking about. Europe is not a homogeneous entity. While there might be some parts with curbside charging networks, they do not exist either where I live, or where I travel. Besides, the bestselling car in Europe last year – Tesla Model Y...

    From Y to Audi e-tron: a Comparison

Yes. Bizarrely, the Q4 E-Tron also has a manual charge port. I see people driving them with their charge port open and flapping in the wind remarkably often!

    Turning radius

Yes the MY has a pretty terrible turning circle. Our driveway/parking space is very tight. In our old car (which has about the same size) it was a 3 point turn. With the MY it is a 5 point turn! Like others, I would love to have 4 wheel steering... As well as the poor turning circle, with both...

    Snow, Ice, and regenerative braking

100%. Doing this is the closest you can get to manually putting the car into snow mode, and on LR and P models gives the right characteristics of 50/50 distribution for power and regen.

    Snow, Ice, and regenerative braking

Thanks for the link. I have checked in the settings, and I certainly cannot control regen in my MYLR. This is on the latest software 2023.44.1 I am on a European spec Tesla, so it's not impossible that the situation is different in the USA. For instance, over here we are not offered a blended...

    Snow, Ice, and regenerative braking

This topic has been discussed a number of times before. However, it does not hurt to revisit it! First, the good news! While your Tesla swerved a bit under regen braking, it looks like the traction control system kicked in and did its thing correctly: your Tesla recovered and did not crash...

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

Thanks – I have watch Bjørn's video, but was asking for experience from someone who has owned all three EVs themselves. Apart from anything, Bjørn operates in a part of Europe with a very high density of chargers. This allows him a strategy of very regular and short charge stops. While the...

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

How did you find efficiencies compared between the MY, Mach-E and Ioniq 5 at highway speeds of, say, 75–85 mph? For our use of our MY for long journeys I find this is a critical factor. The way I passed two Ioniq 5s on the French autoroute did make me wonder why they were going so slow...

Done with Tesla Model Y Performance after 2000km

Just wondering – why did you pay extra for a keyfob? In my experience, the phone key works very well and, since I almost always have a phone with me, no keyfob is one less thing to carry. Also, apparently the keyfob is less secure than the phone key. As for some of your other points: - I feel...
