    2022 Model X - Interior Noise / Rattling / Crackling

Felt tape moslty fixed my wind noise issue on passenger side. I took multiple service center trips and just about lost my mind, and then eventually narrowed down the sounds and used a bunch of felt tape and it really helped.

    Wind Noise new MYP

I bolstered the inside seal with foam adhesive strips and it cut my issue down by 50-65%. I don’t think about it as much anymore. Sort of blends in too so it’s not an eyesore.

    Wind noise from front windows

The air for me was coming in on the bottom, left area, right where the seal was not touching the window. I spent a lot of time taping all over to make sure it wasn’t somewhere else, but it ended up being pretty much the same spot where I heard the sound. They told me that using the air gun...

    Wind noise from front windows

Here are the notes he left me from the visit Concern: Customer states: Wind Noise - We are going to take another crack at this. I’m going to do some testing to try to figure out the exact location of where the air is coming in. SV00EB608C- Confirmed with the customer at vehicle drop off, a...

    Wind noise from front windows

The plastic seal that you see on the outside of the window that sometimes doesn’t look perfect is pretty much just decorative. They told me it’s the one on the inside that matters.

    Wind noise from front windows

I took these pictures before they fixed it. I don’t think this is really going to help very much though, but it does show the seal that I’m talking about on the second picture. That was not making contact flush with the window and that’s how the air was getting through. You could probably have...

    Wind noise from front windows

Yeah, so for my car, the top was OK. It was a vertical seal on the inside towards the bottom of the window where it meets against the door frame. It was not having pressure against the window up to nearly 8 inches and they reduce that down to 2 inches and I would say to fix my problem by 75%.

    Wind noise from front windows

I tried my own weatherstripping. I taped all kinds of different spots while I was driving, but I eventually found the exact spot by using the blower inside the car. I tried a few of those seal kits and they didn’t really do much because they weren’t addressing the actual problem. What I was...

    Wind noise from front windows

I tried every third party product I could find, and nothing really did any good the problem ultimately ended up being that the inside seal B pillar was not connecting to the window and providing the proper pressure. It was off by about 8 inches, so they got that down to about 2 inches and that...

    Wind noise from front windows

Update for me. 2022 X back left corner of the passenger door lots of wind coming through multiple service visits. They told me it was acting normal even though the technician noticed the problem when we were driving before appt and then told me there’s nothing they could do after hours of failed...

    Wind Noise new MYP

I am wrestling with similar issues on my model X I have been to the service center a few times and they even drove another new one and told me it sounds normal but it’s way too much wind leaking out of the passenger and driver lower corners in the back left. I keep troubleshooting different...

    Wind noise from front windows

Sorry for the million posts. I took some high density foam door weatherstripping, and taped it along the inside of the door and in the inside of the frame attached to the car to fill that spot. I’m happy to report around a 50% better situation. So I’m going to get a little bit thicker foam and...

    Wind noise from front windows

I’m going to try to stuff some material in there (foam or whatever) and see on my next drive if it makes a difference before I try to make a longer term fix.

    Wind noise from front windows

Hmm… they “should” be able to fix that gap I’d hope. Mine isn’t as visible but I sure hear the wind at that same area. I wonder if wind deflectors would help.
