    Can't login to Slacker

It's not LTE, I have an X with LTE and an older S that does NOT have LTE. Neither has been able to load Slacker for about 3 or 4 days now.

Anyone else getting 'Key No Longer Inside' and the occasional whacked door?

Seems like nearly every time I get in the X, I get a message on the console underneath the car saying 'Key No Longer Inside, Car Will Not Restart'. However, it drives just fine. This happens with both of my keys, so it doesn't seem to be a key problem. Also, once or twice I've had the car...

    Model X May Deliveries

My Vin XX3689 will be picked up in Dallas next Monday! Reserved last September and ordered early January.

Latest DATE of reservation invited to configure.

Probably, but like me, it's kinda nice to count-down to when you're invited! I'm not as late as djbakasan, but I reserved on 9/24/15 and was invited to configure today (Jan 11, 2016).

    Design Studio for Everyone

Silly question that I should know, but how in the world do you find out where you are 'in line'? I have a reservation number that starts with RN, but if the rest of that number is my actual place in line then I won't be getting my X until sometime in the 2030's! Lol

Auto Parallel Parking feature working for anyone?

At the risk of hijacking my own thread, I tried it on a divided highway with clear lane markings. This road expands at each crossing to three lanes (added a turn lane). The car would follow to the right, get near the shoulder line then jerk hard left. Almost sent me head on into a car that was...

Auto Parallel Parking feature working for anyone?

How do you activate auto-parallel park? After playing with AP a bit yesterday (and nearly getting killed twice!), I would like to test out the auto-parallel park feature. But nobody is talking about this, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to make it work. Anybody tried it? How did...

Why are people sweating the details?

Interesting point. I effectively have payments forever, so it probably skews my perspective. However, the various options definitely affect the lease payment, so it should matter just as much as if it were a purchase.

Why are people sweating the details?

It is true that I usually lease because I rarely keep a car past 2 or 3 years and you always get killed on trade-in value if you buy/sell in that short of a period. Even with the S, I'm fairly certain there will be the 'next great thing' in 30 months from now (term of my lease), and I'll want...

Why are people sweating the details?

Admittedly I am coming from the other side, having had a fairly nice collection of cars for about ten years now. But I will say that I've never gotten excited about any vehicle as much as I have the S. It just has a way of making ICE vehicles feel antique by comparison.

Why are people sweating the details?

Great post Larry, but it sounds very similar to my experience. You bought into the Tesla kool-aid at every step, and pretty much maxed it out. I did too!

Why are people sweating the details?

Given that particular long commute scenario, I agree that the base model 70D with no options at all makes sense. And where did we get this 'worthiness' concept? I honestly wish everybody could have a Tesla, just not at the risk of not feeding the family! The sad part is your friend can save...

Why are people sweating the details?

Ive definitely not always been in the position to be able to afford a Tesla, or any other car for that matter. However, when I was in that situation, a Tesla would have not been an option. Please tell me you don't advise people living month-to-month that a Tesla is a reasonable purchase! This is...

Why are people sweating the details?

I apologize for any offense. I was under the impression that the purchase process for expensive cars was quite different than more affordable budget-friendly models. Perhaps the entry price for that type of thinking is much higher than I thought.

Why are people sweating the details?

Well now I'm starting to feel like a snob, but I didn't try to head that direction. Do most of you guys start with a car you can barely afford and add very few options? I really doubt it, but maybe I'm just wrong. Most car people that I know didn't add options to an expensive vehicle simply...
