Fatal Flaw with Text Support (2019.40.50.1)

The fourth item on my list has now been resolved. All of the text messages for all but the one really long text message read by the car have returned to my phone. Not sure why that one text message disappeared. So I would not call it a fatal flaw anymore.

Fatal Flaw with Text Support (2019.40.50.1)

I was able to successfully set up text message support with the new software release (2019.40.50.1) working with my Android phone using Android Messages. However, I have turned the feature off due to what I consider to be a fatal flaw. There are several concerns I have with the text messaging...

Wall meter to measure power usage?

Here is the setup I installed to monitor my electricity usage. The meter socket cost about $35 and the refurbished meter about $25. Ability to track my new Model 3's electricity usage - priceless!

    Firmware 8.0

Well for starters electrical circuits are rated in volts and amps - not kW. And for that reason plenty of folks understand what a volt and an amp are. I will miss seeing volts and amps on the display because you do lose important information. When you are charging slowly - knowing both volts...

    Pipeline Rupture Causes Gas Shortages

Now who has range anxiety? "An interstate gasoline pipeline has ruptured in central Alabama, spilling 338,000 gallons of fuel in an ecologically sensitive area and threatening fuel shortages across the eastern US. So far governors in Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina have declared states of...

Another Model X crash, driver says autopilot was engaged

There is an old story - supposedly about Qantas pilots and their mechanics. Pilots are asked to write up problems they have observed with the aircraft in the aircraft log and then the mechanics note their resolution to the squawks in the log as well. Pilot: Test flight OK except autoland...

EZ-Pass transponder mounting on refreshed nosecone-less Model S

I bought a couple toggle bolts at the hardware store and mounted the black EZ Pass transponder in the black grill to the right of the radar (drivers's side). The EZPass has worked well in Maine, NH, MA, NY, NJ, PA, and VA. Most folks don't notice it. Do you? I'm very happy I don't have the...

    P90D Supercharging Data

I graphed your data and compared it to the data I captured from supercharging my 90D in West Springfield, MA on November 13, 2015. Temperature was 53 degrees F. You are charging substantially faster than I was in November.

    What's your 90%?

My 90D had 261 miles range at 90% on the day I picked it up. My 90D's range is now down to 237 miles of rated range at 90% and is 9 months old. It seems I would have been better off ordering an 85D. I have a service appointment next week. We will see what can be done to address this issue.
