Ideal SOC for long term storage

Tesla Owners: I’m being assigned a role outside of the country and will need to leave my MY in my garage for several months. What would be the ideal state of charge to minimize battery degradation? It will be plugged in the whole time. Should I shut down the hardware as well?

    FSD Beta 12.3 GA

Agreed, TACC is no longer available with FSD enabled, only auto steer. (Even though information prompt on single vs double pull says otherwise) I guess they’re trying to force more data collection from where users like me just disable fsd whenever certain driving conditions present themselves...

Charging setup for my condo garage parking space

Thank You for sharing this, my Team and I were unaware that real time availability was active. This is fantastic news and will remedy multiple concerns for the users and our internal Ev charging administrator.

No Garage / No driveway.... Charging?

The YouTube video makes my point, off peak charging is a primary solution. It also states that the totals ignore other demands on the “grid” (while they’re really talking about generation) while challenges exist throughout the transmission and distribution, most of the discussions here are...

No Garage / No driveway.... Charging?

Not sure an urban planning simple solution exists with legacy infrastructure designed when the demand of EV’s wasn’t conceptualized, even though there were EV’s powered by the subway dc traction supplies in the 1930’s.. (Jay Leno has one in his garage) that aside, I think that a solid discussion...

No Garage / No driveway.... Charging?

Ok, glad your workplace has ample charging to offer you this opportunity. if your goal in driving an EV is to be truly environmentally friendly, the most impactful charging is off peak. I’m a power engineer, if people truly understood how utilities have to manage the peak demand with the...

No Garage / No driveway.... Charging?

Respectfully, and sorry but I have to: 2 phase 5 wire was last distributed in Philadelphia originating from the days of Edison vs Westinghouse ( via Tesla) arguing over ac vs dc (they both were right) and removed it in the late 1970’s.. as a young engineer I converted part of the Philadelphia...

No Garage / No driveway.... Charging?

You absolutely can associate a Tesla gen 3 charger to your specific vehicle via the configuration software if you feel the need to do so, the TESLA team allotted for this scenario Especially if it’s fed from your home electrical service. Ideally with you having a dedicated parking spot, it’s...

How much should the HOA charge? (I'm the HOA president)

Contractually Tesla wants a minimum of four…. For them to manage the program. if you have 6 devices you need a minimum of 48 amperes.. but you can load share with only two, a leader and a follower. And you can load share on a single 30 ampere circuit if you chose to do so. there are...

How much should the HOA charge? (I'm the HOA president)

Hire an engineer that isn’t beholden to the sales of a specific product.. I don’t want to disparage any of these small companies, yet we’ve moved away from several of them to a Tesla hosted solution for good reasons.

How much should the HOA charge? (I'm the HOA president)

I’d suggest that you ask the Tesla owner to cover the Installation of a Tesla universal wall pack, ~$600 plus labor plus the circuit costs…. Say $2000 all in. That’s the level 2 they’re asking for anyhow, Set up a commercial power agreement with Tesla and let them handle the transactions and...

    Supercharger - Yardley, PA

You can see the green sticker on the meter pan, final… ‘Apple maps says Morrisville, but 19067 is Morrisville and Yardley, I’d say this is Yardley Pricket Preserve .. new commercial development with Wegmans, restaurants as well as multiple apartments / townhouses.. From my perspective as a...

    Supercharger - Yardley, PA

Moderator note: The first three posts of this thread were split from a general discussion thread. Yardley / Newtown Supercharger has meter installed and the green final inspection sticker as of 20 Jan 24. It appears based on the height of the bagged posts, that they’re V4’s while I likely...
