    Solved: wind noise

All, I have wanted to post this earlier, but couldn't find the time... Some background: I have done all of the suggested mods for decreasing the A Pillar to windshield wind noise and all of them have helped to varying degrees to make the ambient noise in the car much more tolerable. As I had...

    Solved: wind noise

I tried to do this again and it was stretched so thin that it cracked at the spot I tried to spudger it in, haha! That said, I actually got some 2mm solid rubber tubing from McMasters? and it fit in well. May try to get the 3mm since the 4mm round was too big. My mirror space must be very...

    Solved: wind noise

On the mirror, I tried to fit the wind noise reduction tubing for the top glass into the underside mirror gap but it was too big. What type of material did you use? Link if possible? Thanks! AP

    Solved: wind noise

You're killing me man! LOL. That was just a 20min experiment trying to diagnose potentials for wind turbulence...or are you being facetious and encouraging me to start a trend? :) Maybe from your perspective...I loved my RS3 and miss it still - would welcome the opportunity to drive it for...

    Solved: wind noise

To be clear, most of the wind noise now is directed about the top of the windshield - both at the junction of the windshield to "sunroof" At the A pillar and and across to the passenger side. Not sure if that air stream can be modified... AP

Downsized M3 Performance to 18 inch wheels

I like the look and am contemplating the 18s as well - but i think what would really set this right is it being lowered to minimize that SUV like gap. AP

    Solved: wind noise

Yup! I forgot to mention that I noticed this since I was driving today with the windows down and decided to clean my windshield and a lot of windshield cleaner got in on the drivers door! AP

    Solved: wind noise

All, OKay folks, Here is a list of all my wind noise/buffeting modifications to reduce this issue: 1 - Filled the A pillar at the hood as OP suggested 2 - Filled under the fender to A pillar 3 - Filled door jam to A pillar with the 4" foam suggested by Arctic Sun 4 - Gapped the A pillar to...

    Solved: wind noise

Also, do you folks know if the proper position of the plastic clip from underneath the windshield to the A pillar is to be "tucked" into the A pillar or does it come out on top of it? AP

    Solved: wind noise

Oh no doubt! Took that blue strip to work to test but really isn't a good sound barrier... Sugru - Ive got some in a small pack, but not ever having used it before, how much would you recommend to cover that length in the picture on both sides? I'll try it out soon... Thank you, AP

Missing my ICE car. . .

Yes I agree with you - pecking at the screen is my major concern over the UI, so much so that I bought that tilt screen from Tech Forum which helps a bit. However I get a lot of flack from this thought process, but I really do like Apple Play in the sense that if I like my phone connected to my...

Missing my ICE car. . .

I agree 100% with the OP original post (aside from the removable top and manual) in that I miss my RS3 daily. I was in the same boat with my wife saying that I couldn't have both and had to go one way or the other...Things I miss in particular are the 5 pot note, the fit and finish of that car...
