Tesla starts giving back Supercharger access to salvaged vehicles

Yeah so for anyone reading this, scratch that whole second paragraph. Only the busbar inspection was needed for fast charging. I got confused between the 4 different invoices Tesla sent me.

Tesla starts giving back Supercharger access to salvaged vehicles

Oh gosh...you're completely right...what a nightmare. They totally added the harness inspection back (see screenshot), but I guess they removed it - a second time - in the end. I'm blind and thought the "Ski - Center Rail - HV Battery" entry was the second fast charge inspection, because that's...

Tesla starts giving back Supercharger access to salvaged vehicles

I did "Other - Something Else" and explained in the description that I wanted a fast charging safety inspection. Don't worry about the battery percentage. They told me it would be 24 hours, but it ended up being 3 weeks because they had a lot of inspections come in at once (or so they said).

Tesla starts giving back Supercharger access to salvaged vehicles

Hey guys, so Tesla held my car for 3 weeks because they had "an influx of inspections" and it was over the holidays (thankfully they gave me a loaner Model 3 after a week)...then I got lazy and then I forgot to report back. Good news though: I now have supercharging! In the end, they went back...

Tesla starts giving back Supercharger access to salvaged vehicles

Good news - I do not actually need two fast charging inspections. 😂 Tesla service messaged me saying "please excuse the previous message, I have updated the inspections based on the charging system hardware installed in your vehicle". Now I have an estimate for a single "Busbar Charge Port...

Tesla starts giving back Supercharger access to salvaged vehicles

Wow, $175 for a single FC inspection is a lot cheaper. My car is a 2021 Model 3, so that could explain the difference. I just went to Tesla. I rescheduled for later this month as I did not realize it was going to be two full service days, and since they don't work on weekends it wouldn't be...

Tesla starts giving back Supercharger access to salvaged vehicles

I have a new estimate from Tesla. Now they are charging me for a Fast Charging inspection - which I guess is two parts: "Busbar Charge Port Fast Charging" and "Harness Charge Port Fast Charging". $1433 for the whole process; $1537 with tax. Ugh, that is not cheap. At least I'll get all the...

Tesla starts giving back Supercharger access to salvaged vehicles

Indeed. After reading @JollyBadger's experience (linked) of having supercharging temporarily enabled with only the HV inspection and then disabled again, I'm thinking my Tesla technician might be right. Either it was going to be a single inspection and now they are going back on that to make it...

Internal docs indicate Tesla to allow salvaged vehicles back on Supercharger network

Sorry to hear that. I was just informed by the service technician that I will need to have two inspections to have supercharging enabled on my salvaged Model 3. I thought I was getting ripped off after reading some comments here that only one high voltage inspection is needed, but after hearing...

Tesla starts giving back Supercharger access to salvaged vehicles

I strangely got some conflicting information from the Tesla service technician. He says it's a "two step process" to enable supercharging (see first screenshot). He then said he will "send over the estimate for the first inspection", to which I asked whether there are actually two separate...
