They say the map update from 3-4 weeks ago didn't install correctly and they are going to get the SC to try to push an update. Failing that I have to take it in or have mobile tech come and try to fix it.

Add me to the list. I've had 42.2 for a week with no NoA. I had the screen replaced about 6 weeks ago due to the "yellow border" issue. I also had the car for service to replace side camera due to errors it was throwing (per Tesla). I had a 6+ gb download about 3-4 weeks ago which I assumed...

Not true:

These releases are supposedly keyed to the week of the year (28 = July 9 2018), meaning they’re a little behind.

I was at the service center 6/22 and asked for 2018.24 because I hadn't gotten it yet and he said they were back to 2018.21.9 because of some "glitch" and it was recalled after only a few hours. Apparently 24.1 fixed that (he wouldn't say what the glitch was)

That is pretty interesting actually. I never considered that all that was going on "under the hood". Another solution to this is don't look at CNN for actual news. This whole media thing is a sad state of affairs.... JS.

Yes as chillaban notes some DLNA media devices we have are apparently causing frequent disconnects. If your Tesla isn’t disconnecting from WiFi you don’t need to bother with the guest network trick.

Its super easy. I can only speak for Eero because i set it up and it is truly idiot proof (no offense). The guest network took about 12 seconds to enable and give it a name. I will be happy to help you if you message me. I think if I were going to do it again I'd do Google only because it...

Consider a Mesh network -- they are wonderful. Google home, Eero, Orbi all are good. Google lets you track how much your tesla is using. One thing I had to do to get my car to connect regularly (I have Eero) is set up a guest network -- the Star Ship will stay connected to that.
