    Supercharger team sacked?

Well the leaked email clearly states that sites that have yet to start construction should not start. They’ve sold off some of the planned sites in NYC where they have a chronic lack of charging already. They’ve pulled out of expanding Australia completely, maybe other countries but we just...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Slow down in sales doesn't mean you aren't adding more EV's to the fleet so you'll still need to grow the supercharger network if you don't want to overload it. If it gets to the point people rock up to a charger and have to queue more often than not, other than those that don't use the public...

    Supercharger team sacked?

It’s a bad message isn’t it when the pioneers of the EV transition admit that their public charging isn’t a viable business model. Or not viable enough to be worth investing in much anymore. It isn’t giving the right message.

    Supercharger team sacked?

I think they only opened it up because they had to for various government grants that potentially reduced that Capex cost. Of course they didn't have to do that or take the grants but suspect as you say it's not viable without and probably not viable with them. Even when you've got more cars...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Yeah I just googled business energy rates and it’s what it came up with but I must admit it felt off to me. A petrol station is a viable business at least in busy locations but even then we all know of locations that have turned into car washes because they didn’t make enough money to stay...

Did Tesla design cars to be able to take a range extender just incase?

Right so UK forum here but EV sales are only growing in the UK in fleet sales where they have incentives from the government to buy them. Take that away and add in the issue with residuals and trying to sell them on, they’d buy ICE otherwise. Private sales of EV’s have dropped as a percentage...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Wouldn’t surprise me. Build it up, get some of the best if not best software in the business and then Elon’s like “Yeah won at that, delete it all now as I’m bored of that”.

    Supercharger team sacked?

Just was first number I found when I searched. I think at peak times they cam be around that but frankly the business case won't stack up at all I suspect when providing them at those kind of prices. I guess point is that the business case probably doesn't stack up without government incentives...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Think they do this each time. Just a small section of the fleet get the first release, then they wait for feedback plus maybe do some bug fixes and then go with another version that might get a slightly wider audience again. Be a few weeks yet until the masses get it.

    Supercharger team sacked?

Yes so you need government funding to get the chargers in the first place otherwise it doesn't make commercial sense. Not sure that covers everything but lets say it does. Average Supercharger cost per kWh in the UK is say 67p/kWh Cost per kWh to supply the site is maybe around 26p/kWh x 20%...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Assuming a valid business model for EV chargers exists then there's no reason to slow down, keep increasing speed and make money off that charging. To give up on a profitable or future profitable part of your business makes no sense. If on the other hand there isn't a valid business model EV...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Frankly this has me questioning my order of my Model 3 Long Range from just the other week. There are of course still the existing superchargers and of course a lot of other networks in the UK but more just is having 2 EV's the right way to go. They have one bad quarter and EV sales hit a bump...

M3 windows opened/vented themselves this morning

Is this some drove it into a lake kind of safety approach to open the windows so you can easily get out before the electrics potentially fail? Cannot just manually open the door when you’ve the pressure of all that water pushing on the outside of the car so it only becomes possible to open them...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Steve killed off projects that weren’t going anywhere. This is more like killing off the iPhone. The Supercharger network is one of the main reasons you’d pick a Tesla over another EV, even if you feel another EV was superior otherwise. It was going extremely well, they were doing a great job...
